(FIXED) Can't get past boot screen 10.10.3 ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Setup:

Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell 3.2GHz LGA 1150
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
RAM: 1x8 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 1866MHz DDR3

I currently have 10.10.2 installed with this setup. When I boot up from my flash drive with 10.10.2, I used the following flags
-x -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes IGPEnabler=No

That gets everything to work for me on 10.10.2. So I made the 10.10.3 unibeast flash drive the same exact way. I didn't touch anything other than installing 10.10.3 through Unibeast.

When I put the same boot flags with what worked for me in 10.10.2, I got stuck with the last line of text saying "System uptime in nanoseconds: 12239803616".

I tried again, but this time using GraphicsEnabler=No and instead, I got "System uptime in nanoseconds: 12172031282".

I've tried a multitude of different boot flags, nothing has worked. Not quite sure why I got 10.10.2 to work, but not 10.10.3.

**I don't know why the attached pictures are upside down... They are the correct orientation on my screen when I uploaded them... :\

***I fixed this issue. Here's a link to my post on how I fixed it http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-nvidia-geforce-gtx-550-ti-2.html#post1018503

Your installation/booting stuck with deadbeef error

Include bootflag "maxmem=Value" while booting.

*Replace Value with the 1/4[SUP]th[/SUP] value of the total installed RAM Size.

Eg:- If you have 16GB RAM Installed then use as "maxmem=4096"

If that is also resulting in the same Kernel Panic. Then boot with the flag "-no-zp"

Good Luck..!

So I added the boot flag maxmem=2048 like you said, and it didn't have the same error. Instead, after the code finishes showing on the screen, it goes black and doesn't come back on. I have to reset the computer. I tried using GraphicsEnabler=Yes and =No and both times it does the same thing, but the original error went away.

Edit: Booted using -no-zp and I got the apple logo! I'll go through the installation like I normally do and see what happens.

Now probably you have graphics related issue.

Which port you are using for monitor connection?? Using any converters??

Connect monitor to DVI/HDMI port without converter, VGA not supported.

Then try to boot again.

Sorry to post again. I edited my post. I got to the installation screen! I'm going to go through it like I normally do and see what happens.

As it was installing, I got an error "An error occurred while extracting files from the package "Essentials.pkg"."

Never have I seen this error before. I'll try again, but if you know how to fix that, let me know please.

OMG...:banghead:

I don't know the exact reason for this error. Different different opinions are there as reasons for this issue, RAM issue, Yosemite Package Issue, Unibeast, etc.

You try again with single piece of RAM or another RAM. Try installation safe mode too "-no-zp -x -f"

First I'd like to say I appreciate your help a lot! I'm glad someone is giving me help.

Second, I removed all USB devices, issue persists. I only have 1 stick of ram in, and I know it's working since 1.) I am dual booting windows 7 on another hard drive and 2.) I had 10.10.2 working no problem.

Maybe it's a Yosemite or a unibeast issue.. I'll try reinstalling it later since it takes forever and it's getting late here. I did everything the exact same, so I don't see what could've went wrong. I've been doing hackintoshes since Mountain Lion and I've never had this issue before, so it's weird.

Better download a fresh copy of Yosemite from App Store (Now only 10.10.3 is available) then create bootable USB with latest Unibeast. If you have one more empty USB then make one more bootable USB with CLOVER too.

Then go ahead and try installation.

Guide for clover method : http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html

Good Luck..!

I've never used Clover, only Chimera. Should I make the switch?
