So this is how I did it:

Tony's main boot CD, with -x
Install 10.6.2 combo update
(before reboot then:)
Run Multibeast:
- Network -> RealtekR1000SL
- DSDR -> GA-P55A-UD3
- Utilities
- EasyBeast -> EasyBeast 10.6.2
Reboot (with -x again)
Install 4850 packages from this thread
Reboot
Follow these instructions from this thread:

3. Using Kext Utility to remove the driver cache
4. Using Disk Utility to repair the permission

5. Install the Tony AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext given to ALC888 using Kext Helper Utility
6. Using Kext Utility to remove the driver cache
7. Using Disk Utility to repair the permission
8. Reboot :wave:

Awesome! Congrats on a working hackintosh! :D

As a fellow GA-P55A-UD3 owner, congrats! Glad to know the 4xxx series, in particular the 48xx series work. I've been debating whether to upgrade my 9600GT to a 4830/50/70/90 card.

Or wait if and when Apple starts supporting the newer 5xxx videocards. Hopefully soon!

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I have a p55a-ud3, i750, and a radeon 4850. I have followed the above instructions up until the audio installation (except I used iboot ati 10 with -x). I installed the two additional 4850 packages for the radeon listed above also, as well as updated to 10.6.2. Each time I try to reboot, osx boots up nicely, and with full resolution, but the screen flickers every 10 seconds or so. No discoloration, just a kindof "tick" every few seconds. Might anyone know what is causing this? I would appreciate your help!!!

Thanks. :thumbup:

@ robest: Congratulations - I had tried to install a Sparkle 4850 vapor-x. After some days I bought a 9800GT which works more or less. However I will try another 4850 once again.

@ history: Perhaps there is an HDCP issue with AppleUpstreamClient.kext? I had heavy stutter in video playback and a mouse lag. Removing this kext in system/library/extensions and repairing permissions via kext utility helped a lot. You should copy this kext to your backup folder before.

I have the exact same system (see signature). I had the 'tick' movement every so often also. Make sure you install the ATY_somethingorother as that seems to stabilize the ticking of the screen. Reboot once (took me to reboot twice) and it should be all fixed. Make sure you install the packages from multibeast for the 48xx series.

Thanks a lot, I will give this a try. Do I still need to install the above ATI drivers, or is everything I need in multibeast (ati driver/ATY)?

ATY_Init.kext is in MultiBeast ;)

Thanks a lot. Ok, i tried installing all of the ati drivers from the graphics section of multibeast. When I restarted a couple of times, I could successfully start without -x, but my resolution option was only the default 1024 by 768. Any ideas? Thank you very much!

Put specs in your signature- it helps me see what you've got ;)

You'll need to search the forums for a method for your particular card- I don't have an ATI card, but I included those kexts based on some posts here. You shouldn't install all of them at once- probably try one at a time to see what combo works.

Good luck!
