Hello everyone,

I built my first hackintosh and so far everything seems to work fine except for one strange issue : manual CMD+ALT+eject generally shuts the machine down but sometimes, let's say one time out of three or four, the computer refuses to wake up.

I read on the forum that lots of people are confronted to a black screen when they want to wake the machine up. But my problem is different and does not relate directly to the display.

When I try to wake the computer up, I can hear the hard disks turning on for about a second or so, then go back to sleep. In other words, it's like some process keeps the disks from starting to the end. No display of course. Eventually I have no choice but to reboot the machine by pushing on the on/off button.

For the record, I've got two hard disks, a SSD and a "classic" one and I managed to make a fusion drive out of them.

Bios settings :

AHCI is enabled, xHCI and eHCI are also. Virtualization is disabled, Init display first is set to IGFX.

Do I have to change something in the Bios ? Any help to get this fixed would be greatly appreciated.

My built :

Mountain Lion 10.8.2

Core i7 3770

8 GB DDR3 Ram

128 GB SSD for OS

1TB for storage

Gigabyte H77N-Wifi motherboard (replaced intel wifi with atheros chip)

Antec ISK 310-150 mini itx case
(150w power supply)

Another question by the way : did someone succed to have USB2 storage devices working on USB3 ports without the help of a USB3 hub ?

Hi Fil,

Did you manage to get a functional rig?

I would like to know if your Antec ISK 300-150 is not too hot with your i7?
Not too noisy?

Can you clearly hear the 2 small fans running?

Can you keep it on your table near you, in a silent room?

Thanks for your hints.
I am looking for a small ITX box, but must be silent.

Maybe you could give us some feedback on this topic.
Thanks a lot
