KextBeast is a strange animal - it's a .pkg file, but doesn't actually install itself on your machine; it's just used to install .kext files from your desktop to either /System/Library/Extensions or the now preferred /Library/Extensions. To use it, just put the .kext you wish to install on your desktop and run KextBeast. It will ask you where you want to install the .kext and prompt you for your password, then do its thing.
It's hidden in the Finder; you can get to it by clicking Go->Go to Folder from the Finder menu and putting "/Library/Extensions" in the text box.
You aren't the only one having problems with KextBeast reporting a failed installation - I encountered the same thing on one of the systems I support. I sent the developer a message, hopefully there's some resolution to the problem.
I managed to find Library/Extensions, and I put the kext file for my network there manually, and I restarted the computer, but now the folder "Extensions is gone...crazy stuff, dont know whats happening here
I have been trying to get KextBeast to work as well and get Installation failed! Maybe something to do with el capitan moving the 'disk repair' functionality? I can manually ad the kexts files but when i give them a chmod or chown but i'm not sure if that's really even doing it for me.
