map app weird snow effect

this happens after i open map app, had to open and close several time to get rid of it. the snow effect moves just like on on tv with no ota reception in the old days.

this also happens on video playback. goes away if i open close couple times. after update to 10.9.1 seems to fix the problem. only the map app is affected

Mine does the same thing. I've recently noticed it with some video playback as well (namely the video guides in System Preferences for both the mouse and trackpad gestures--they show up as white snow instead of actual videos).

Anyone know a fix for this issue?

PS-- Thanks so much for mentioning that you can clear this up by restarting the app multiple times. I didn't realize you could do that, and have been frustrated that I can't use Maps from my desktop (I actually really like this app since I've been traveling a lot and can sync bookmarks over to my phone easily.)

Possibly a configuration problem with your system. Although as you haven't provided any information of your build its a tough guess for anyone to assist. I switch off my telepathy at the weekends.
