this is a weird one... i've been successfully using my hackintosh with a dvi monitor for some time. i upgraded to the dell u2713hm monitor yesterday and the system won't boot with the monitor attached to the same dvi connector. i'm running hd3000 on board graphics but it doesn't matter because i don't even get to the bios screen! the system completely refuses to boot with the new monitor attached.

however, if i boot headless and attach the monitor after booting, everything is beautiful. what am i doing wrong? thanks!

stuck in boot loop with dell u2713hm monitor attached

a little more playing around has revealed that the system does try to boot with the dell u2713 attached. what happens is that it gets stuck in a boot loop where it keeps cycling through and rebooting. you can actually see it on the vga port but not on the dvi port. same system works fine when i use my sony dvi monitor instead.

i have a gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 motherboard. is there some bios settings that i should try? thx, josh

did you by chance found a fix for this issue? I have the same issue.
I have a Gigbyte P67a-UD3-b3. Monitor is a dell u2713hm. GF is gtx 460.

system would be in a reboot loop until I turn off power supply and turn it back on. Than it would boot to the OS.

sadly, no. i boot it headless. then i plug in the dvi cable. i can boot it using a vga cable, if i need to see the bios screen and then switch to dvi after it's on the mac desktop.
