Long story..my GTX 660 works great once booted into the OS, however i get nothing from when I hit the power button to when I see the desktop. This is due to my use of 3 mini display port monitors (24" LED Cinema Displays) using the Altona Mini Display to DVI converters. I figured this wouldn't be an issue, but its starting to become one. I need to use Windows and because I don't see the chimera bootloader, I am unable to enter my Windows drive. (Parallels doesn't give me the best performance..really don't like virtualization). This has only been a problem with this graphics card. My previous system, with a Radeon HD 6850 turned on my displays right as I powered it on.

Seeing as there is limited compatibility with the HD 7xxx series, I am avoiding those cards for now. I am quite hesitant to switch my graphics card to the latest GTX 770 as I think the same problem might still occur.

I would like to temporarily change out my GPU to the comparable 6950. Can you please help me on the compatibility of this card and mountain lion? Are there any extra kexts needed or is it supported in 10.8.3 natively?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. :) Thanks a ton.

Nathan, what happens if you try to boot with just one monitor plugged into DP on the 660 and the others disconnected ?
Too bad Apple doesn't give you a DVI connector on those 24" monitors along with one mini DP.

Also have you tried using the Clover bootloader to boot directly from UEFI ? I've never used a 6950 so can't comment.
Will you stay with the 660 if you get this issue resolved ?

Yes, whenever I need to enter the bios I use one cinema display connected via displayport. (mini displayport to displayport adapter, so same digital signal). As chimera has been great, I have never used the clover bootlader. I'll look into it though. And no, I will eventually switch this 660 out for a 770. Thanks :)

AMD/ATI 6900 series of graphics card were/are not supported in OS X.

It is, but you need two cards.

Does this still apply?

I have thus far not been able to get past a white screen + cursor on my single 6950 2GB with 10.8.4.
Anything else I can try (besides shopping for a new card)?

I got the same problem, white screen problem with 10.8.4 with Radeon 6950 1GB
Still nobody knows how to fix this? :(

Not clear about there being a fix in 10.8.5, there has been more than a little speculation about possible support in Mavericks, due in no doubt to the new Mac Pro using ATI graphics. It is looking unlikely that we are going to see any real information until Mavericks is available to download for the App Store ~ October.

I managed to get past it with some kexts from some guy but I don't have any QE/CI, seems theres no good fix for this unfortunately. Do you know how to work with your integrated video card? I got Z68p-ds3 (rev 1.0) Intel HD3000 card and if i can get QE/CI with that im happy
