Hi I have built 3 hackintosh's, but nothing in the last year. I just got a case for an HTPC/Mini ITX build.

Got his Case from Newegg:

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352027

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128615

For the mobo I wanted something that can be Hackintosh compatible down the line. Was thinking of GA-Z87N-WIFI. I know that the Ivy Bridge line of this mobo worked well. (had to swap out the wifi card or add one on your own). As for haswell compatability I'm sure it will be there with maverick or 10.8.5.

My main concern is about the compatability of the Ethernet and audio. Do they work? Is there a better haswell MiTX mobo out there for hackintosh build? Please advice. Thanks.

I think that the Z87N-Wifi would be a pretty great board. I really like the predecessor although I have the H77N and not the Z77N. It is in the early adopters guide for Haswell. The audio is ALC892 which will work and the Ethernet again there are 2. One being the Intel chip and the other Atheros. Both should also work.

Not sure about the wifi card but the good thing is you know there are other alternatives.

Coo. thanks. Good to know ethernet/audio work. I think the onboard wifi card's bluetooth works, but not wifi. I might just connect the computer with ethernet. Else i'll go for the TPLink wifi card if I need it in the future. Are there any fully compatible bluetooth/wifi cards out there than work for the hack? Only wish the board had 2 more SATA ports, cause my case can hold 6 HDDs. Other than that seems great.

It is hard to say what will work in the later additions of OS X. If you would like to take a look at some of the wifi cards(not Bluetooth) linked here in Post #1 Official CustoMac Mini 2012 Guide and Notes (in progress)
There are some wifi cards available. Alternatively and wisely I would suggest using the Ethernet until these are confirmed working. If I didn't have the H77n i would be seriously consider this board.

You could always get a caddy for those extra couple of hard drives:thumbup:

Just finished GA-Z87N-WIFI. Everything but wifi. not a big deal. I would get lag and flicker with i3 integrated graphics. stuck evga gtx650 on board and whoosh!!!. system is awesome now. wish i had a bigger ssd for os. audio and network good, bluetooth good to.

do you mind telling us details of your successful build and settings

Can you give details on the iGPU lag?

looking at the I3 for a server / hack / media centre project.
i use I5 ivybridge on board grahics on my main rig hack and have zero lag?

build details would be great, thanks

Has anyone managed to get this board working 100%, apart from the built in wifi. Can anyone post their config used for a Mavericks setup? I like the look of this board but want to be sure is going to work.

Hey hope you can help, I have the same m/board and 760gtx video. I am being probably stupid, but struggling to get audio out of the HDMI , have you had any luck with that? The key thing I want to get working is audio out of the HDMI on the GTX.

thanks and hope you had a goods xmas
