Realtek ALC889A... My audio isn't showing up in the Sound portion of Utilities.

Is there a trick to updating the kexts? I mean I've run Multibeast 5.0.2 and tried installing the specific kext for this ALC885/889a.

I'm going with Easybeast and without a DSDT.
I think I might have used a DSDT before on this installation but if I use Easybeast does that negate needing the DSDT or is it a kind of thing where once I use a DSDT, I have to keep using it.

This is showing up in my System Profile.

You do not have a Extra/dsdt.aml with EasyBeast. No tricks, there is only one selection that works for your system. The selection is MultiBeast 5.0.2/Audio/Realtek ALC8xx/Without DSDT/ALC885/889a. if audio still doesn't work, attach a copy of IOReg. [Guide] How to Make a Copy of IOReg.

Actually I do have a DSDT.aml file. Like I said, I originally used it when running MBeast the first time, thinking it would take care of everything. Evidently it didn't. Since my internet is not working.

I think I might have used a DSDT...." Thanks for the clarification. What problem do you want to solve?

I hope I can jump in here. I face the same problem after the 10.0.2 update. My audio device is gone from Sound Preferences. but it does appear in the System Information (in the About section) as Intel High Definition Audio. I am using the non-DSDT alc885/889a kext .

My ioReg is attached.

If you can offer any insight to what I might have done wrong, and how I can fix this I would love some input.

thanks

The wrong enabler is installed (S/L/E/HDAEnabler889.kext). Delete the enabler and any other enablers.
Run MultiBeast 5.0.2/Audio/Realtek ALC8xx/Without DSDT/ALC885/889a

that did it.
Thank you for taking the time to help me with this. I appreciate it.
