At WWDC today, Apple revealed the end of the Big Cats series. The next series of OS X releases for "the next 10 years" will be based on locations in California. The first is called "OS X Mavericks" after the surfing location in Northern California. In addition, the Mac Dev Center is currently down, so we're expecting a developer beta today. :D

EDIT: Apple's posted a preview page for OS X Mavericks here: http://www.apple.com/osx/preview/

Maverick's or Mavericks is a surfing location in Northern California, USA. It is located approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) from shore outside Pillar Point Harbor, just north of the town of Half Moon Bay at the village of Princeton-By-The-Sea. After a strong winter storm in the northern Pacific Ocean, waves can routinely crest at over 25 feet (7.6 m) and top out at over 80 feet (24 m). The break is caused by an unusually shaped underwater rock formation.

Tabs in finder! Finally! Not sure if it is a revolution but i hope that they keep the feeling of it. Greg actually said that it will be released as a beta for developers today! Hope that it will be a good interface, unfortunately the multiple monitors doesn't effect me though! Ios 7 looks really promising also!

Missed the whole thing on OSX Maverick's. Didn't get in from work on time. Although I agree iOS 7 looks amazing. I really like the 3D screen saver. ITunes Radio will definitely be a hit for me.

Watched a few great surf videos from Mavericks. Insane waves there. Unlike the east coast of England, around 7.6inches more like:lol:

The main news seems to be the integration of dual GPU's in the macbook pro's. I know that current mac pro have dual GPU's but for some reason I have yet to see a build that has been able to utilize dual GPU's within major operating tasks (adobe suites). There is mention that FCPX is being changed to take advantage of this hardware. Do we think that hack's will easily be able to operate with dual GPU's in this new OS?

Probably will come end of November and Im sure before the release they update all iMacs and MacBook's with new Haswell CPU's middle of Fall.

At first I thought that Mavericks is from the world "maverick". Like independent people or something like that. I can't explain it well.

Thanks Tony for the clarification though.

OSX MAVERICK BS

All said and done, the new Mac Pro, Seems to want to revolutionizing the market. The cylindrical shape would also work as a fashion icon. By what looks like a piano finish.

It would seems than Sandy Bridge-E is the future in terms of Server ans workstations machines. e.g Mac pro.

The only question i had while watching was, so where does the Fibre Optics fit in:?:
Some mentioned that Thunderbolt may be used for expansions. But i really am interested.
