Hey guys. Looks like we already have working builds on Gigabyte, Asus and Asrock... in less than a week!

So, I thought it might be a good idea to have one place for those with success in achieving a working SB SL install to summarize their details.

Some questions to follow (or expand on):

What is your configuration (list at least motherboard, CPU, video card, RAM)?

What process got your build to work?

What is not working or is less than ideal?

What is your geekbench score? :headbang:

Re: Working builds - role call!

Wow. I thought we'd see something here. Maybe there aren't working builds out there just yet...?

Re: Working builds - role call!

I'm not sure if I would classify mine as "working" yet. It boots and I have graphics acceleration but the mouse lag and periodic lockups make it difficult if not impossible to use. Sadly, I'm having to use Windows 7 for now until I can find a fix. :(
I'll post my setup anyway, perhaps it will help someone with similar hardware.

Hardware:
i7-2600K
ASUS P8P67 PRO
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
Gigabyte GTX 470 1250 MB Super Overclock

Installation:
-Hard drive and DVD Drive plugged into 3Gb Intel SATA ports in AHCI
-Booted with iBoot-Legacy to Retail DVD, using switches: "-x -v PciRoot=2"
-Completed install to hard drive as usual
-Booted into OS X using Gigabyte Boot CD
-Installed 10.6.5 Combo Update (didn't reboot)
-Installed Sandy Bridge update from Tonymacx86
-Installed Multibeast (only selected Easybeast)
-Installed NVidia graphics update from Tonymacx86
-Rebooted and I have full graphics acceleration
-no other edits, kexts, or anything

Current Status:
-Graphics are detected properly and seem to be working
-No audio yet (didn't bother since the lag was making the system tough to use)
-Only works with 4GB memory max
-As I said above, getting this far is nice but it's tough to use the system because the mouse lags and the system locks up for a few seconds here and there.

I imagine a DSDT for the P8P67 Pro would help but I heard the DSDT tools don't work yet for these UEFI boards :(
I kind of wish I had gotten the Gigabyte board instead.. At least Windows 7 is smoking fast on this computer.

Update:
I figured I would attach my geekbench score

Re: Working builds - role call!

Thanks for weighing in turkleton.

Any of you Gigabyte owners with working setups?

i5-2400@ all base settings
GA-P67A-UD3
8GB OCZ Gold 1333
Sparkle 9400 GT 1GB

Running the Qoopz kernel, ALC8XX kext, and DSDT. Runs a bit wonky, jittery mouse, almost like I'm not getting graphics acceleration but I am. No panics yet, still fiddling. Haven't even ran geek bench yet due to the fact that at Microcenter I, like a idiot, didn't check to make sure they handed me the right processor so I ended up with a 2400 when I was after a 2500k. Didn't notice until it was already in and can't return. Guess I'll have to wait till next week to get the right one.

What clock speed is your 2600K running at? Your Geekbench shows 2.92GHz o_O

What is your configuration (list at least motherboard, CPU, video card, RAM)?

ATM:
CPU: i7 2600
MB: p67a-ud7
RAM - 4GB DDR3 - (old ram from a previous setup)
Graphics - 9800 GT (also tested with 5770 working)... waiting for my propper graphics cards to arrive

What process got your build to work?

Installed from snow leopard, upgraded to 10.6.6, installed legacy kernel, edited dsdt, installed fakesmc, audio and LAN drivers, edited boot.plist

What is not working or is less than ideal?

All seems to be working pretty smoothly, I've just kept playing with the dsdt file and have a pretty stable, working system.

Working:
Audio
LAN (x2)
Graphics
TimeMachine

Not working:
Sleep
Speedstep

What is your geekbench score?

I'll update, I'm working from my stable ep45-ud3l system ATM

Everything works for me: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... try1624701

P67A-UD3
i7-2600K
16GB DDR3-1600
8400GS 512MB

I briefly touch upon different possible installation procedures in the link. Any old procedure will work, simply add the legacy kernel to it.

I have sleep, audio, video sync, everything working. For sleep, since we don't have kernel support yet, you just need to use SleepEnabler.kext for 10.6.6. Hopefully 10.6.7 brings support for SB.

Highlights are:
-set busratio to 29 in BIOS and in kernel flag to solve de-sync
-edit DSDT for HDEF and your audio, as well as a variety of other minor fixes, including sleep (if/when kernel support arrives)
-wait for overclocking support from Nawcom & perhaps bootloader
