Hi everyone, I have exactly this build just the Gaming 5 and not Gaming 7 and I can't get the audio work. I followed the installation guide... uploaded my config.plist. Would be great if someone could help!

Has anyone else using HackaShaq's build experienced and solved Final Cut Pro X failing to export and then locking up the system? I followed HackaShaq's instructions and have searched in general about the export/lockup problem but haven't seen what appears to be a solution to the problem occurring with this build.

I got very impressive Bruce X times as well but it won't export now and I changed nothing.

Yes, I can export the BruceX test and other projects as .mov Apple Pro Res 422 files. It won't let me export H264 .mp4 files though.

This is great info. Ok, I downloaded BruceX and ran the benchmarks in Final Cut Pro. I definitely have slower numbers than your results:

Pro Res 422 (default) - 16.09 secs
H264 - 19.10 secs

Also, as a test, I rebooted into the BIOS and went into the BIOS Advanced Memory Settings and changed Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) off, and geekbench numbers obviously went down as well.

With X.M.P. Geekbench is 25,125
Without X.M.P. Geekbench is 23,797

(These are both with the CPU overclock)

I just wanted to see the performance number hit when turning off X.M.P. and it's fairly significant.

That tells me that a speed bump from 2666MHz RAM to 3600Mhz RAM could be the exact reasons for not only the slower Geekbench numbers, but it actually is slower real-world performance based on the BruceX results as well.

I may do a 3600Mhz RAM swap out to see if that gets similar ~30,000 geekbench numbers, without changing system identifiers, etc. Even thought the aircooler I bought makes updating RAM a pain, it might be worth it for +~5000 in performance in geekbench.

P.S. @jb007, if you can post the exact brand of 3600 RAM you purchased, maybe even with an Amazon link, I'd love to check it out in case I test out a RAM swap. Thanks!

I did fix my problem with FCPX not exporting H264/mp4 files by following a detailed explanation found on a different site that explained it well enough for a non-IT person like me. Now that I've seen the explanation I better understand what others have been suggesting.

I take back what I said about my hdd's lol, 2 of my drives disappeared in OSX again. They show in my bios, but OSX doesn't see them. It must be related to some AHCI setting because they were showing up until I upgraded the firmware in my MOBO and I had to redo my settings as they reset and now I'm only seeing 2 of my 4 HDD's via sata ports.

Also, has anyone OC'd their RX 580? I looked on youtube for videos but haven't found any that relate using the Sapphire Trixx utility.

Hi @imgarrett. I have all 2 ethernet ports working. For the Killer E2500 you need AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext (have a read of her Readme.md file, it outlines that you have to delete a file ALXEthernet.kext from /System/Library/Extensions (which I have done) and for the Intel I219V2 the IntelMausiEthernet.kext both in /Library/Extensions/IntelMausiEthernet.kext.

I always run in a terminal after placing these there with:

Then check you have no errors. Reboot... hopefully you will have a Killer of a ethernet!
