Looking good so far, Like how tight you have the rear panel keeping as much as the original case as possible.
Front set up is nice as well with the rail system and HDD tray.

Thanks. :D

Today, I show you a couple of pictures of the finished mod - if a mod ever can be finished. I'm very happy with the result. The inside is not as cleaned up as a "real" mac, but properly. I use it every day, it runs very stable. I use windows only very rarely. For example for the CAD, which unfortunately does not run on OS X.

I have installed ML 10.8 now on the G5's "big brother" (Intel DP35DP, Q8400, GF8600) now. It seems to run fine (exept of the usual sleep issues with this board). I think, I will install it on the G5 soon...

According to the board rules, it is not allowed to sell something here, sorry. I can give you the drawing of the standoffs. Take it and ask in a local machinery shop, if they can fabricate them for you.

Yeah I just realized that the other day. But thanks for the CAD drawing. :) I've already JB Welded my posts to the case, though. But I might just end up doing another project like this. :)

Final pics look great!

Thanks!

I 've updated now to ML 10.8 using the Xmove method. Almost everything is working fine. :)

Issues at the moment:
  • CMOS reset after sleep. -> I'm waiting for a solution with a patched ML AppleRTC.kext. It seems, that Multibeast 4.6.1 is not able to patch the ML kext??
  • sometimes slight screen artifacts... They were gone on Lion :banghead:

This issue is fixed now. I've installed the patched Lion 10.7.4 AppleRTC.kext out of a backup of Lion's S/L/E directory using Kext Wizard

Do you know what this is?

Yes, the adapter cable for my new 27 Inch Cinema Display, which I can pick up at the post office tomorrow.

I can't wait for it... :beachball:

I think, it will make my "Hacki" perfect.

It's here!

Everything works perfect:
-Mic
-iSight camera
-Sound via Displayport (DSDT-edit required). But the Logitech-speakers produce a much better sound quality...
-Phenomenal resolution of 2560x1440
-very crispy contrast
-Brightness adjustment with the keyboard
-...

Connected via Displayport to Mini Displayport adapter to the onboard HD 3000 Graphic and to a back USB port

My DIY Hackintosh USB Bluetooth module (see my sig), a Logitech Mouse receiver and the keyboard cable in the back USB ports

I know the feeling. I love mine too! But mine is Thunderbolt, so I can only use it with my MacBook Pro.

I didn't want the Thunderbolt version because this is a very young interface that makes a lot of problems, if you don't have a "real" Mac. Even if I should own a Macbook later, I could use the Cinema Display with it.
