keep at it. it seems bleak now, but those errors you are getting arent really....errors. they are just little obstacles youve gotta overcome.

btw i had the hp envy 15 for a little bit, didnt install mac on it though. beautifully made things. definitely a viable looking mac pro replacement

keep at what mate? doing the same thing over and over again? that's just insane..heheee, like Einstein said, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Something surely is a miss here, at me last wits end bro :(

keep at getting osx installed.

obviously by using an external dvd drive, you are doing something different

That's us Brit's right, persistent mofo's :)

BTW, I tried again, cd stopped spinning, pressed f5 and same ole crap again :(

I've prolly done this step now, seriously, no BS, over 50 times. same result.

Where abouts in the UK are you? I used to live in Hertfordshire... but moved to Las Vegas :)

i wouldnt bother until you get the new drive. itll just make you sick otherwise.

Hello Loz...

How's your snow leopard installation so far? Do you have any success? I just read this topic today... So just want to know how's your progress up untill now... Hope to hear from you soon...

Hey hackerz

Thanks for showing concern bro...

I'm not having any luck what so ever :(

I personally think it's something to do with the iBoot. I tried this on a friends PC (not a laptop), he's spec's were:

EVGA E760 CLASSIFIED "Overclocker's Pick" 3-Way SLI
PhysX 1366 Intel X58 EATX Intel Motherboard
DDR3 RAM
i7 920 2Ghz
ATI Radeon Card

and no such luck either :(

all the best

Hey, Loz, try posting over in the laptops forum - they are way more familiar with your problems than us desktop users

Hey Loz...

Do you still got the 'Unable to start Symbols.dylib' thingy on your screen?
