@ humph: Great to hear, for me the front and other rear USB ports didn't work, perhaps it does for you because of Rev 1.1.
Can you please tell me the model of your bluetooth stick?

And I also still get errors when booting.
Did you download the updated version? The original version had an error that would cause assertion errors.

It's on the one from 15:28 UTC+2. I'm using PC-EFI btw.
Code:
Apr 27 22:07:27 pc-v351 kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-179.1.4/AppleHDA/AppleHDAWidget.cpp" at line 3641 goto handler

Did you rebuild the /Extra/Extensions cache after copying?

Just replaced the DSDT in the .zip in the first post- the one submitted by arw had i7 speedstep info integrated. It is now the default F8 with the new HDEF edits now.

From within terminal enter the following command at the prompt:

Code:
mkextunpack -v /Extra/Extensions.mkext

Here is what it showed for my system:

Found 4 kexts:
/Extra/Extensions/fakesmc.kext - org.netkas.fakesmc (2.0)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xATA.kext - com.jmicron.JMicronATA (1.0.2)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xeSATA.kext - com.tonymacx86.JMicron36xeSATA (0.7)
/Extra/Extensions/Legacy889aHDA.kext - com.tonymacx86.Legacy889aHDA (0.3)

You will see in my case Legacy889aHDA.kext since that's what my board uses.

Is it realistic to hope for audio out via HDMI on my 9400GT/GA-P55M-UD2 to work - or am I beeing too optimistic ?

[Edit: should have noted that I'm about to do a complete re-install, and I wonder if I should aim for 10.6.2 or 10.6.3.]

Thanks,
n0dder

with this is it possible to enable 5.1 speakers? sound is working on for my system, but I seem to be able to only enable 1 output at a time?

Sorry for very tardy response.
It's incredibly old...Belkin F8T013.
