Well, now I have installed EMlyDinEsH's ApplePS2ElanTouchpad.kext, and although it isn't perfect I now have non-inertia scrolling and some other gestures. Better than nothing.

Now onto the more serious stuff, fixing the USB issue, getting the graphics, audio, etc. to work. One thing I found out is that there's no sleep if I close the lid and if I choose 'Sleep' I get a gray screen, no crash. Does this mean I could get it enabled?

Wait, I think I got graphics working.
I added this as device-properties together with IGPlatformID=01660003: 7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000003006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31

As found on this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...ad-fyi-only-guide-10-8-how-enable-hd4000.html

I now have Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 512mb VRAM listed on System Profiler and 4 selectable screen resolutions on the Displays prefpane, though there's no QE/CI since the menu bar is solid and Chess animations aren't smooth.

If your display is 1366x768, you need only GraphicsEnabler=Y IGPlatformID=01660003.

You should not use IGPlatformID and device-properties at the same time. They accomplish the same tasks and are mutually exclusive in their use.

Okay, I removed IGPlatformID, since when I had GraphicsEnabler=Y and IGPlatformID=01660003 without device-properties it wasn't detected. It's still detected but no QE/CI as before.

I also just found out I can't mount the internal HDD and the optical drive. Hmmm…

Post ioreg. http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html

I don't think the device-properties string is valid.

What is the resolution of your laptop panel?

I also just found out I can't mount the internal HDD and the optical drive. Hmmm…

What do you mean "can't mount the internal HDD"? How are you booting to it if is not mounted?

I'm still booting off a usb drive… The internal HDD and the optical drive are detected as well as their partitions, but they can't be mounted. Maybe it's due to Safe mode? My native resolution is 1366x768.

Yeah, you can't make graphics work in safe mode booting from the USB stick. You need to implement power management first and boot clean from your HDD.

I tried removing the -x flag from the bootloader just to see what would happen, and now it boots in normal mode with QE/CI. :O My internal HDD and optical drive work properly now as well.
But for some reason the trackpad isn't working again. Maybe I need to clear the kext cache? If it still exists in 10.8...

Sounds like a kext cache issue. Boot with "-f" then rebuild caches with DPCIManager, monitoring the log for errors.

Is it done yet? The last log message was 13 minutes ago.
Also, I can confirm the HDMI output works perfectly. Don't know about the VGA one.

Edit: Tried running sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions and sudo /Volumes/UNIBEAST/Extra/Extensions. Doesn't work either.
