26JUL12 - Provided options for Black or Silver Version of FT02, Switching PSU to a ready spare for RMA... :(
Included case in title; I love this thing & I think it deserves to be mentioned. Made link to 6870 fix more obvious.
Clarified MultiBeast install selections.
27JUL12 - "Disk not properly ejected" for USB devices when waking from sleep if OC'd
29JUL12 - Discovered SSDT not needed w/ Ivy. Even OC'd.
11AUG12 - Discovered that I was wrong! Now using SSDT for 4.5 GHz OC http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/938038

Component Notes
* - I'm getting more than acceptable temps @ 4.2ghz. Not a large OC, but it's enough =)
** - I was able to easily clock this RAM to 1866 9-9-9-24-1T @ 1.46v YMMV
*** - Look For 6870s with 2xDVI 1xHDMI 2xMDP
**** - This is not at all needed in any way. hnak & maolj have given us enablers, and tonymac has even included them in MultiBeast. This card is a full OOB option though, and I like to simplify my installs as much as possible.
***** - I'm RMA'ing mine due to really obnoxious coil whine. I expected some, but this was just too much. Corsair is great on warranty though, so I'm giving them a chance. I've switched to a ready spare Seasonic, which is Corsair's OEM anyhow.

Installation Notes
The HD6870 gave a white screen with a cursor when trying to install.
I had to modify my UniBeast drive with instructions on -> this thread.

Booted to freshly installed Mountain Lion using UniBeast. Installed MultiBeast.
I selected UserDSDT, but I did not have a DSDT on the desktop. It isn't needed for this motherboard :headbang:
I also selected:
Drivers & Bootloaders -> Kexts & Enablers -> Audio -> Non-DSDT HDAEnabler->ALC898
Drivers & Bootloaders -> Kexts & Enablers -> Audio -> Patched AppleHDA->ALC898
Customization -> Boot Options -> SSDT -> Core i5/i7 Overclocked
^Not needed. It seems native PM is giving us SpeedStep with no SSDT in /Extra. Even w/ my OC.
Here I would have also selected either hnak's AppleIntel or maolj's AtherosL1c, but not needed if you can find an OOB card.

I also installed the standalone version of Chimera, and used kextBeast to reinstall the ATI6000Controller.kext that I moved out of S/L/E on my UniBeast disk.

The system is almost 100%

Working:
Sound, Sleep, QE/CI, Reboot, and Shutdown. I have not tested USB 3.0, as I have no device to take advantage of it...
PStates seem good. I'm satisfied with the range: Jul 25 22:35:49 Daves-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 17 18 19 20 42

Not Working:
I get "The disk was not ejected properly" for all USB volumes when waking from sleep. This does not occur with stock CPU settings, only when OC'd.

SSD Not Showing in Disk Utility

I have a very similar build but I'm using an agility III 240MB SSD but after booting with Unibeast Disk Utility won't find the drive. Did you have any issues like that with your Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD?

I didn't have any issues drive detection. Is the drive detected in uEFI?
Are you using the Marvell Sata ports ('GSATA')? I only used the Intel ports and even disabled the others.

Nice build. That case is one that I consider to be on par with the current Mac Pro cases in regards to looks solely. Do you have any build pictures by chance? I would like to see what your build looks like in that case?

I tried the same thing, but without success

Great build description- this Ivy Bridge stuff is really a snap- DSDT free! :headbang:

Thanks! This new stuff really is amazing. I'll edit my installation notes to reflect that I didn't actually have a DSDT, but selected UserDSDT because everything just works!

I install Mountain Lion, Multibeast (select UserDSDT or EasyBeast) then Chimera 1.11 and after reboot is Kernel Panik / Blackscreen with.... You need to restart your computer.

As I see you have overclocked your CPU. Are all USB Drives still mounted if you wake from sleep? In my case, everytime I wake up from sleep my USB drives are remounted and I get the message that I haven't unmounted my drives correctly, the same message which appears if you unplug your drive without throwing out.

Ahhh. So there's this hack's quirk. I should've known better than to say everything was perfect. I'm having the same issue; testing has gotten me nowhere so far. You mentioned the overclock, does this stop happening for you if running stock clocks?
