Hi guys,
Just starting out down the hackintosh path, couldn't justify the cost of MacPro, and the iMacs have no spare internal bays, so hackintosh it is
I have around 7 HDDs + 1 SSD to put inside the case, currently they are all floating around as externals.
Currently I'm running a late 2008 MacBook Pro with OWC 100GB SSD and 8GB RAM (10.6.8), but the video card is dying and battery has exploded and since exited the scene
This is the hardware I have purchased so far:
XFX Radeon 6970 2GB
Intel i7 3770K
G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB RAM (2x8GB)
Corsair TX650 power supply
This is what I am intending on purchasing:
Antec Eleven Hundred case (or any better recommendations?)
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler
Mountain Lion
Is there a DSDT available for this board yet? Any gotchas I need to be aware of other than updating the UEFI first?
Are there any other Aussies here that know where I can get this mainboard locally or from overseas cheaply? Nobody seems to have heard of it here.
Cheers
