<< Solved >> FireWire Audio Interface MacOS 13 (Maybe work on real Intel and Silicon mac)

  1. I would detach the fw interface cable from from pc
  2. uninstall FW kexts from all companies and types
  3. disable SIP
  4. restart, 2x nvram reset
  5. re-install your fw drivers
  6. enable SIP,
  7. restart, 2x nvram reset
  8. login and see if sys prefs telling something about legacy extensions
  9. shut down
  10. attach firewire, turn on pc
maybe reseting the FW device to factory defaults also helps

but its also likely that there is something wrong in your OC EFI or config
Tried all this, thanks.

Would there be any chance I could have a look at your EFI and config.plist?

Hi! My EFI is the OC 0.9.7 nersion of this build:

with: DisableIOMapper - disabled and DisableIOMapperMapping - disabled for FW working

the rest is the same as this post and suggested in the 1st Post of the build.

Maybe you have to do something in the BIOS to make it work. CSM-disabled etc.? as already mentioned in this thread.

On Sonoma maybe you have to do something with OCLP as written here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ld-w-i9-9900k-amd-6600-xt.239969/post-2398544

maybe this Video on RME site helps too, as it shows you the process of registering kext in newer MacOS: https://rme-audio.de/de_driverkit-vs-kernel-extension.html

I have an old saffire pro40 working, but I went back from Ventura to Monterey as Logic feels more responsive on Monterey… Will switch to Ventura when security updates get ditched.

What interface you have?

If you have soemthing with preAmps and ADATA I would suggest you buy a supported USB Interface and countinue using your old interfaces pre amps with ADAT
