I booted the system using the suggested flags and the boot sequence freezes at "[ PCI Configuration end, bridges 5, devices 13 ]". As the bootloader came up, I noticed several messages about "EBIOS Read errors." Any other suggestions? The Nvidia device was skipped -- I saw a message about that as the system booted.

Any ideas / suggestions as to what I should do next?

What is in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist?

You could try updating FakeSMC. I use my own: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-FakeSMC-kozlek

Did you also add GenericUSBXHCI.kext to the USB? https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Generic-USB3
Did you update VoodooPS2Controller.kext? https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller

Why safe mode? What boot flags are you using?

  1. How do I edit / view the contents of org.chameleon.Boot.plist?
  2. Okay.
  3. No, I did not.
  4. No, I did not.

  1. It is at /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist.

    [*]Okay.
    [*]No, I did not.
    [*]No, I did not.

    Might be worth it to try. The ones installed by Unibeast are either omitted or not current.

here is my
Code:
org.chameleon.Boot.plist
:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
    <key>Boot Banner</key>
    <string>No</string>
    <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
    <string>No</string>
    <key>IGPEnabler</key>

    <key>Instant Menu</key>
    <string>Yes</string>

    <key>Legacy Logo</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    <key>UseKernelCache</key>
    <string>No</string>
</dict>
</plist>

I moved your XHCI.kext to the folder where all of the other kext's are located.

EDIT: Exciting things are happening!! After adding your XHCI kext file, many more things scrolled across the console before it finally stopped at something just after the bluetooth controller. There are several errors regarding com.apple.xpc.launchd above it.

Ok, post photo. Probably some sort of graphics issue. What boot flags are you using?

I am using the following boot flags:
Code:
IGPlatformID=01660004 GraphicsEnabler=Yes IntelCapriFB=4 SkipNvidiaGfx=Yes dart=0 nv_disable=1 -v

Could it be that I installed your XHCI.kext in the wrong directory? Where is it supposed to be installed to?

Here is the output on screen when it freezes:

I am using the following boot flags:
Code:
IGPlatformID=01660004 GraphicsEnabler=Yes IntelCapriFB=4 SkipNvidiaGfx=Yes dart=0 nv_disable=1 -v

You installed Chameleon, did you not? If so, no need for IGPlatformID (as it is specific to Chimera).

Use:
GraphicsEnabler=Yes IntelCapriFB=4 SkipNvidiaGfx=Yes dart=0 nv_disable=1 -v

You could enter some/all of these flags into org.chameleon.Boot.plist also...

The output you provided demonstrates that nv_disable=1 was not used or misspelled.

Could it be that I installed your XHCI.kext in the wrong directory? Where is it supposed to be installed to?

It goes in /Extra/Extensions on the USB.

Seems like that's where you put it as it got you past the problem...
