10.8.2 problem

You may need to enable "legacy" in bios. Only if your keyboard is not responding during boot. (in response to earlier question)

The right way (for the time) is the rollback on AppleACPIPlatform.kext.
Thanks the @unixservice and insaleymac.

Were do you put the kext after you download it?

It's amazing :headbang: Very very very thanks for post (and for attachet kext) !!! My system is stable now and normal loading (and that after a few weeks painful trial and error)!
Have even begun to think about reinstalling the system to 10.8.1 from zero...))

From what I read from this thread, question to the experts:

Is it a good or bad idea to avoid the FakeSMC option duing installation from USB, or is it better to install it and use the patch on page one to get the system work again?

I am stuck during install in a similar matter, and I ask myself if I should set this switch in multibeast or not.

The way I see it, you get a booting hard disk if you don't set the switch. Does this take you into trouble later if you do so?

Thank you! It worked! You are brilliant!

Good evening!
I'm sorry for possible posting in wrong section, but i would appreciate a little help from you.
I've just installed Mountain Lion and it booted pretty nice for the first time. But after i rebooted it gets stuck on the spinning wheel. Now i can easily boot with -f flag. As i understood there must be a kernel cache fixed or something like that. How can that be fixed ? I mean how to avoid booting with -f flag.
Thank you.

( i think there is no need to post my hardware )

HELP! I am still unable to update to 10.8.2 from 10.8. When I boot single user I am able to exit into the system, but as soon as I do my monitors act as if they are not connected. I was able to VNC into my system, and I saw in the system information that my video card (NV Geforce 460) was not properly recognized. My MB (GB P67A-UD7) doesnt have any video out, and Im no longer able to VNC in. I tried to installed the updated NVidia drivers, GraphicsEnabler=No, kexts from another post, but nothing works:banghead:. Thanks in advance for any help:thumbup:!!!

Thanks guys! Especially at post #5 solved my problem. This is the detailed solution for my ML-upgrade on motherboard ASUS P8 Z68-V/GEN3

My Hackintosh upgrade from OS X Lion 10.7.4 to OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2

Motherboard: ASUS P8 Z68-V/GEN3
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 1024 MB (changed to ASUS nVidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti)
Processor: 3,41 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

I first tried using the above graphics card but that did not work at all. So I upgraded to
ASUS nVidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti and then things started to work out.

I followed this procedure:
1. I bought and downloaded Mountain Lion 10.8.2 from Appstore and made the
USB-stick for installation using Unibeast.
2. To reach the installer I used the bootflag –x
3. Restart after installation
4. I used –x bootflag again to be able to start Mountain Lion
5. After logging in to Mountain LIon, I ran Multibeast clicking these features:
Since the MBO has no DSDT-file: Easybeast Installation
For sound: Realtek ALC8xx/without DSDT/ALC892.
Network: hnak’s AppleIntelE1000e Ethernet
Customization: Bootoptions/GraphicsEnabler=0

So far so good, but after I tried to restart, it stopped at the famous and enjoyable forever spinning wheel. Sounds familiar? But I found a solution on this link.

Thanks guys! ☺

In short this is how to stop the forever spinning wheel:
1. In post #5 You’ll find a file called AppleACPIPlatform.kext.zip
2. Download the file and place it on Your desktop
3. Install the kextfile using Kexbeast (from tonymac)
4. Then run Multibeast for Lion (Yes Lion!!) and only click ”Repair Permissions” under System Utilities and install.

After that, reboot and Mountain Lion should start in normal mode. At least it works for me. I hope it also will work for You.

Regrettably I’m still using Lion 10.7.4 since my monitor hardware calibration software cannot communicate with monitor NEC LCD 2690WUXi2 due to changes made in Mountain Lion by Apple. NEC is warning users from upgrading to ML until the problem is solved. So I just have to wait for Apple’s next ML upgrade and hope for a solution. But that’s another story. Now I at least have a separate ML disk working.

Hello all, can anybody PLEASE tell me what to do in a fresh install of ML 10.8.2 from scratch. I can complete the install with zero issues, but as soon as i run multibeast the first time and reboot i CANNOT get back into the OS after that no matter what i do. Installing with DSDT or without is the same, boot flags DO NOT work, the system goes as far as the log in screen on some occasions but that's it, it will freeze/hang/halt/stay there, after that. So i cant go into the OS to either update the ACPI kekt or delete this OEMsmbios one. The one thing i am going to try right now is do another fresh install and before rebooting after multibeast i will delete that oemsmbios kext and do repair permissions in disk utility.

PLEASE HELP! I am at my wits and patience's end, if there is no solution for this right now i will just throw in the towel. This issue has frustrated me out of wanting to do this build. I would really appreciate a straight step by step answer to get my particular situation resolved.

I have even tried to do the acpi kext update before restarting the first time after the ML installation.

MY system:

GA-H61N-USB3
i3-2105
HD3000 (using dvi right now, but have tried vga and it works too, but issue is there no matter what)
Kingston +V200 120gig SSD
2x 4gig corsair ram

Disconnected everything on the computer except main drive and 1 stick of memory, not even an optical drive hooked up.

When i run -v my system halts at:

"...
FIPS USER Space POST Success!
Synced /var/db/
macx_swapon SUCCESS
ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out
[AGPM Controller] unknownPlatform
com_lnx2mac_RealtekRTL81xx: Ethernet address 90:2b:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
"

And that's it... HELP!

Thanks.
