Hi! I am going to build mini-itx hackintosh and stuck with two options:
1. Consumer setup with ga-h170n-wifi with i7 6700 - obviously no overclocking features.
2. Entusiast setup with ga-z170n-gaming5 with i7 6700k - higher processor speed from the box and OC capabilities.
For me the only...
I am building this to replace a legit Mac Mini 2012 with 2 external HDDs running as a (99% of the time headless) Plex server. I'd like to spend money where it matters and not on things like the video card. It's been about a decade since I last built ANY computer, so I would appreciate any...
Hi,
I'm considering building a VERY cheap Hack for a friend who currently doesn't have her own computer... so she can see if she likes macOS Sierra. (And to satisfy my curiosity - what is the cheapest Mac that can run macOS Sierra)! She is only likely to want to do basic tasks: web browsing...
Hi All,
I was looking over Octobers CustoMac Mini & CustoMac Mini Deluxe builds and have come up with a bit of hybrid. I'm wondering if the Apex MI-008 Case and it's power supply would be strong, big and cool enough?
- Core i5-6600K
- Thermaltake Slim X3 Low Profile
- Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming...
Dear all,
I'm figuring out which components to buy for a new to build system.
I have checked the customac mini build of June 2016 and wondering how the build with the i3 6100 stacks up against the current Mac Mini (cheapest model). Can the customac build outperform the macmini?
Currently I...
That's my question. I want to buy a computer to install, upgrade, try out new OSs, without being computerless if I break it. I want it to be my spare computer. Could be the mini ITX sort of thing. I know there's a buyer's guide, but want to make sure I don't spend unnecessarily. Any suggestions?
I'm a novice, but thinking about building a CustoMac Mini Deluxe as a replacement for my aging MacBook Pro.
I now use a Belkin Thunderbolt docking station, so I want to continue connecting to that. How should I do this?
What mini-ITX motherboard, or what added components? What effect will...
Hey all! I have a question regarding Apple's finish on their aluminum cases. How exactly are they finished? Bead blasted, painted, etc...?
I'm working building a MacMini from the ground up, case and all. I have aluminum parts for it (original Apple parts), but may need to refinish & match...
Hello to everybody,
I am a new member of this forum and I'm going to built my first Hackintosh.
It will be highly appreciated if you take a look at the .pdf I'm attaching and give me your opinion about the compatibility of my choices.
Thank you.
Hello Good People,
After a couple of hours of research, it would seem this is the place to be for hackintosh questions. I have zero experience with hackintoshi.
Would an AsRock BeeBox work for a Mac Mini style computer...
Note: It's the smallest mini-itx I could build, not the smallest hackintosh you can get.
If you want the smallest you have to look in "thin mini-itx" MOBO.
This build is 2cm higher than a mac mini.
My build:

gigabyte z97n-wifi,
+ i3-4370 (with integrated gpu hd4600)
+ ssd 850 evo...
I'm looking at selling my old Hack Pro and building a Hack Mini, based off of a Gigabyte Brix GB-BXI7G3-760 (a barebones mini-pc including a discrete GPU). Does anyone know if the following hardware would be compatible with the standard TonyMacx86 installation procedure? If not, is it even...

Anyone tried to hack the Lenovo Q190? It would make an awesome alternative to the mac mini if it's doable.

I'm trying to build a CustoMac Mini to replace my old Hackintosh. I'll be sticking to all of the stock parts with the singular exception of the processor. Most of the time, the machine will be running as a headless iTunes, file, and Xcode server, but I will be doing frequent Handbrake transcodes...
Hi!

Ga-z87n-wifi
i7-4770k
evga gtx760 2gb

Tired of waiting for the Mac Mini to be updated, so going the Hackintosh route.
For the CustoMac Mini build in the Buyers Guide:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/422-building-customac-buyer-s-guide-may-2014.html#mini
it recommends the Gigabyte GA-H87N Wifi MOBO, but this is out of stock at Newegg and...
Hey guys,
I'm a student in Australia looking to build a cheap and relatively small hackintosh primarily for the experience of putting a computer together and messing around with it to get a Mac OS working. Once I have achieved this, I'll probably dual boot the computer with Ubuntu or Windows...
