I'm experiencing the same issue. My Lenovo model is T410 2537 which apparently has NVIDIA according to this link http://www.cnet.com/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-t410-2537/4505-3121_7-33949450.html.
I have same audio device in my IBM ThinkCenter M30 machine and was not able to get audio to work with any other method including installing Voodoo through MultiBeast. But with the pacakage at above link made it work! Thank you so much.
Recently I upgraded from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 and I saw my card stopped working even after changing kext. I had to restarted and run Kext Utility again in order see the changes take effect. You probably already did that but if not, you may want to give it a shot.
Pretty much straight forward upgrade for me. I use MSI 8400 graphics card as built-in Intel GMA 4500 is not supported. So as usual after upgrade I had to update the Kext with my device ID and everything worked well.
I eventually got it working on Lion without the driver. I just had to update the kext with correct device ID and then it works like charm. Try that out.
Just wanted to share good news that Zotac 1GB version worked almost OOB. I had to update kext with device ID and then everything worked like a charm.
BTW, there are bad reports all over net regarding ZOTAC rebates. So I have decided to go with MSI 8400GS from Micro Center. It is available for...
Gave up on 4500. Bought NVIDIA 8400GS card and it worked almost OOB. I had to add device ID in kext but then it just worked like a charm. Thanks all for your help.
Thanks for your post. I am trying to convert Lenovo dekstop. Running 10.7.2 fine. But onboard Intel 4500 doesn't seem to work. So I was thinking of adding same graphics card as you mentioned above. I was wondering if this card works out of box or with minor tweaking. Also, did you use UniBeast...
So I checked the available Graphics modes and the highest listed is 1280x1024x32. There are couple more but they show up as 0x0x0. What could be the reason to not have anything higher than 1280?
No you didn't get me off track. In fact I am searching for the graphics card as you suggested but based on the power supply in my machine.
Regarding 4500, I tried various things and the steps mentioned in the thread above but not much luck. Actually with those steps I see a better looking boot...
Update: I misspoke earlier. I actually have Intel GMA 4500. I am going to try steps in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=29005&hilit=GMA+4500. Hope it works.
BTW, I also have a separate machine where I have GMA 3100 and from the Wiki and forum discussions GMA 3100 looks like a better bet. Is...
So if I want to add a card, shall I just get one of the graphics card listed in the table on CustoMac page here http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac? I am thinking of getting this one...
