Did Anyone Get a New 2012 Ivy Bridge MacBook Air or Pro?

Picked up an 13" MBP 2.5 GHZ IB 500 GB HDD 4 GB RAM. (Fry's special $999) Liking it very much, pretty fast, great battery life, updated to Mountain Lion.....had to reinstall a couple of times for it to work. Haven't used any of the ports aside from USB and headphones, but going to pick up a...

help! how to get dsdt into iboot?

I think that iBoot is only for Snow Leopard. Even when using iBoot to install SL, you only put the DSDT on the desktop and MultiBeast installs it. Perhaps you can give us a few more details about what install method you are using, so we can help you. The more details the better.

    P7P55 reboot problem...

How did you install? DSDT? 10.7.x? What drivers/kexts did you install? The more info, the easier to sort out. One good way to isolate the problem is to start up and stop at the Chimera screen, then type -v for verbose mode, then watch the startup sequence, when it freezes, you might get some...

Hackintosh suddenly won't turn on. Help!!!

Glad it is not a hardware issue! The reason probably has to do with power management that is specific to the Ivy Bridge or the MB, I believe there is a bridge helper app on the downloads page that might help: If you are not running 10.7.4 and that doesn't solve it, give us more specifics on...

[SOLVEDStuck on Apple logo after Unibeast lion clean install

Re: Stuck on Apple logo after Unibeast lion clean install I don't think the TM B/U will work as it doesn't have the necessary boot loader and kexts required to run on non-Apple hardware. iBoot doesn't work with Lion, do you mean rBoot? Did you try adding boot flags? GraphicsEnabler=NO might help.

Hackintosh suddenly won't turn on. Help!!!

It is possible a hardware issue. What I would do is unplug the HDDs and try to boot into BIOS again. If you can, set BIOS again as per your original installation. If you can't get into BIOS, try reseating the RAM and the processor. Make sure all your connectors are fully seated and try again...

Does this recommended custom build actually work

Yes, there are posts on every build, I believe most people manage to get it working without posting. If it is a recommended build, it has been successfully installed a number of times. Please tell us what you have done. Have you for instance tried adding GraphicsEnabler=NO or -X at the...

Boot problem 10.7.4 after a bad move - FIXED

Re: Boot problem 10.7.4 after a bad move (broken bootloader?) You might consider burning an rBoot disk and booting with that in the DVD drive, that will allow you access to your HDD and you can run MultiBeast again if need be. Have you tried booting with -x PCIRootUID=1 and/or GraphicsEnabler=NO

Is there a way to edit Multibeast settings?

The DSDT is installed in the Extra folder and after you run MB, you can delete it. Realtek ALC889 codec on that board. If you installed Voodoo and wish to remove it, it is installed in the System/Library/Extensions folder. Just remove it, install the Realtek kext and run system utilities in MB...

    HD3000 and GraphicsEnabler (Please Help!)

You can set GE=NO in MultiBeast so that it boots that way every time. IIRC you use GE=NO for Intel graphics.

    Radeon HD 6870

That is a good question! All the 6870 cards listed in the Wiki have the same device ID, so it looks as if they are either identical or close to it. Note that the details on getting them working are slightly different, so you have a few options should it not work immediately...

question about audio kext files installed by multibeast

My experience is you only need to re-install AppleHDARollback when updating. We used to keep more stuff in the Extra folder, but it was folded back into the main extensions folder for some reason. Keep in mind that when Rollback is installed, it replaces the AppleHDA file using the same name, so...

    Lion 10.7 Audio Problem

Well, the specs for Rev 3 show the chipset I listed, so I guess you have either 1 or 2. Try to install AppleHDARollback again as sometimes it doesn't take the first time. Second can you confirm the menu bar icon greyed out.

Need help with ALC889 on MSI G41M-P23

Don't know if this will help, but I recall several posts where the Enabler and Rollback worked without Realtak8xxHDA, might be worth trying if you are still stuck. And my experience is that on upgrades you need to reinstall AppleHDARollback several times due to some oddity....I have had to...

Unable to run 10.6.8 on sandy bridge

Have you tried using boot flags..... GraphicsEnabler=NO Oh, and Integrated graphics are very poorly supported in Snow Leopard, support only came in with Lion, that may be part of the problem. I should have caught that earlier....apologies.

    [SOLVED] David's Build - GA-H61N-USB3-F4 - BIOS HELP, PLEASE

Re: David's Build - GA-H61N-USB3-F4 - BIOS HELP, PLEASE If audio is the only issue and you have a Realtek chipset you also need to install AppleHDARollback. In BIOS you also need to enable S3 sleep if you want to avoid issues.
