Was wondering what kind of cards you guys are using? Are they reference boards? Or is this less of an issue these days? Looking to switch from nvidia because the driver keeps giving kernel panics (on my real mac pro...). back on windows now on a dual xeon but looking to hackintosh once again....
So far I can confirm that the 1060 with current beta drivers is extremely unstable. I got a dozen crashes when using Premiere Pro and even a complete kernel panic with an instant reboot. Definitely not there yet!
note: when using sierra and PP 2015.3
My ancient GTX 660 is dying in my rig. Got artifacts all over the screen...
So i need to get a new gpu urgently, but I was wondering if the 10 series card is stable in osx to use professionally? Anyone experience?
In my efforts trying to remedy my dying card I did switch to the NVIDA driver...
I have the X8DTI-F with dual X5650 cpus.
But they are capped at 2.66 Ghz according to HWmonitor (x20 on the multiplier). They do drop down to 1.6 Ghz on idle)
Did anyone ever get turbo boost to work with these CPUs?

I am using Unibeast 5 in trying to make a disk image of 10.10.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=260
But the install disk is still build with clover.
It says in the description "UniBeast 5 uses Chimera as the bootloader and supports OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion, OS X...
I've been using 10.9 for a very long time now and before 10.8,7,6...
But since 10.10 comes with clover I cannot get things to work properly.
Is there a way to get rid of this clover boot loader and use chimera?
I installed chimera in 10.10 using multi beast but it keeps booting in...
Have you managed to get the booting to work?
I'm upgrading from 10.9 to 10.10 but it keeps hanging on boot.
Unless I boot from the USB install disk...
10.11 seems to work but it's buggy as hell so I left it...
Thanks!

Don't use a raid card for ZFS. It will fry your array.
Anyone know if the Dell H310 SAS/SATA Controller with H16 IT firmware is compatible with OSX?

I Just replaced my 24GB Kingston kvr1066d3d4r7sk3/12g memory with the Hynix HMT31GR7AFR4C-G7DB memory. 2 kits of 24GB for 48GB in total in sticks of 8GB.
I still boot in 2 stages with the supermicro splash screen showing up a couple of times.
But at least my bios now detects all the 48GB...
Being a creative professional I would just jump ship and go back to windows. I switched to osx about 7 years ago for their Final Cut studio suite. Since they continue to neglect their professional users Adobe became more relevant again. Besides the better user experience there would be no...
I'm pretty sure the boot issue has something to do with my memory. I'm using a kit from Kingston because it was cheap at the time. But it's not in the supported memory list for this board.
Also it is only recognizing 5 sticks out of 6. I only noticed this now because I just changed my system...
Actually I have a similar issue, when I do a cold boot it posts and then it reboots, and then it boots properly. I don't get any error codes tough. I get a warning light on my case indicating an overheating issue. But it goes away after the second boot. I contacted supermicro about this and they...
