This is Hana Choi who is working on installing 10.9 to my HP Envy 14-2166se laptop.

His ID is "Sthor"? He recommended me to visit the github website, and I found you. I really don't know where to start.... All I know about Hackintosh is words like "kext", and drag and drop...

My specification of the computer is

Laptop Type Notebook
Included Network Card Gigabit Ethernet
Video Chipset AMD Radeon HD 6630M
Processor Class Intel Core i5-2430M

I'm currently using f.09 Insyde H20 mobbed bios from Camilomi (I tried to reach the wifi card modification from advanced menu, but even the mobbed bios didn't have advanced menu for "extended Bus Reserved" option.. (I heard this version is mobbed, but in the way of "ulk menu" type.. (?) )

So, first of all, i don't know if I can buy a substitute wifi card like broadcom
bcm94312.. since I can't get into the advanced menu. I don't want to waste my money on uncertain cards...

Because of inability to get into the advanced menu, I think I'm having hard time with the boot; I get KP from IOBluetooth..... thingy.

Second of all, I don't know which OS I should choose to install. Currently I'm trying to install 10.9, but I don't know if I should install 10.8.x. I could boot into system but only with when the USB is attached to the laptop. I could figure out how to get rid of cpus=1 thingy, but since then, I never had chance to boot without the usb installation drive, not even one time. Always get KP when I boot alone with the installed system.

I tried to trace what would be the problem, so I had used -v or -x -f words...

So, I don't know what to do at this point. I've went to Github and all I was seeing was Fake SMC and the sb i5 power management, 12, 1, smbios.plist.. and these are really new to me. I don't have any direction where to go.

Would you recommend any tangible way that I can successfully install ( and also choose wifi method) for hackintosh? Should I buy the Asus USB wifi card?

Please please give me some type of clue where I can start..

Please don't ignore my message. And, have a great day! (It's been 6 days I've been spending my time solely on this installation.. My eyes are red...... :'( Please guide me, RehabMan!)

Thanks a lot. I'll be waiting for your response..

It doesn't sound like you have an HP ProBook. While there is much in common with your laptop and the ProBook, this forum is specifically for ProBook owners. I will move your post...

Based on your "specs" above, you should be able to install ML, but Radeon should be disabled in BIOS... you'll be using only the HD3000 in OS X.

Most HP BIOSes have a whitelist which restricts which cards you can use. Seee your HP service manual for a list of the cards which are accepted and try to find one that is also compatible with OS X.

At what stage of the installation process?

Please refer to this guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

Your system can likely run any of the four: SL/Lion/ML/Mavericks. Of course, Mavericks is available at no cost.

If you require cpus=1 it is because of "Local APIC" KP. To fix that you should use the KernelPatcher module from Chameleon.

RehabMan, thanks so much for your reply! :)
I feel like I'm the only 14-2166se user who tries to install osx.. I'm really lost.. I deeply thank you about helping me out.

Lapic kernel thing was done! Thanks so much on this as well. Now I don't need to boot it with "cpus=1".

I'm at the Step 5: Post-Installation Using MultiBeast, 6. Open and run Multibeast.
I don't know what to choose from the Multibeast list to make the laptop be able to boot.
I've tried the Easy boot before, but the boot was always failed during the gray apple logo booting. (The gray spinning logo also stops, and freezes after that.)

I'm about to boot with this configuration. (See the photo attachment).

I will post the update right after I install this.

My mono is "HP Envy 14 HD6630 Intel Laptop Motherboard s989 654173-001 6050A2443401-MB-A02", and I just found out that I won't be able to install F.23 bios. That means, I won't be able to access to "Extended Bus Reserve" menu.

I just checked the service manual and 14-2166se only gives me two WLAN Module (See photo 1) options on choosing Wifi card (See photo 2: in comparison to Envy 14-1120er's Broadcom alternatives..).

So, I'm planning to buy Asus USB-N10. Wish me luck! :)

I think the BCM 43224 might be natively supported by OS X...
