Nvidia 550Ti Sleep / Wake / Freeze Thread

That kext won't work at all because the Machines NODE is missing in the plist file of the kext...

It definitely worked for me though!

That GTX 550 ti kext doesn't do anything for me, still can't wake from sleep and have scrambled graphics.
Remember, THIS IS THE SLEEP/WAKE/FREEZE THREAD, NOT THE BLACK SCREEN WITH BEACHBALL THREAD.

I also have this problem, with errors such as pasted below, when the display goes to sleep during an opengl screensaver OR whentrying to change screen resolutions. I haven't yet tried to put my hackintosh to sleep and resume, but I would bet that would also fail.

Jul 29 10:13:13 danes-mac-pro kernel[0]: NVDA(DMA): Channel exception! exception type = 0x1f = Fifo: MMU Error
Jul 29 10:13:13 danes-mac-pro kernel[0]: 00000069
Jul 29 10:13:33 danes-mac-pro kernel[0]: NVDA(OpenGL): Channel timeout!
Jul 29 10:13:33 danes-mac-pro kernel[0]: NVDA(DMA): Channel timeout!

My card is Geforce GT 430 1GB. Everything worked fine in Lion I might add.

I wonder if *anyone* with a Fermi card is not having these problems?

BigErn,

That seems to be the case, though it would be hard to say for sure.. I think its going to take some patching or kext transplants to fix this.

Soved this issue

[ POSSIBLE SOLUTION ]

I have the z68ma board. I had the same issue (wake up problems after sleep) with a GT440 and a GTX 560 TI.

Here is how it got solved.

- Remove the video card
- Install Mountain Lion (or upgrade from Lion)
- Do the Multibeast thing (DSDT, Drivers etc.)
- Everything should be working properly (sleep / wake etc.)
- Put the video card back
- The system booted up fine and the sleep /wake etc. works (Mac Pro 3,1) in Mountain Lion

Seems like installing ML while the Video Card is in causes some issue.

As a side note, if anyone hates hard rebooting like I do, I have noticed that when I ssh into the machine after the graphics error occurs, and issue a "shutdown -rn now", it does *eventually* reboot within <10 minutes, at least half of the time. In other words, you'll get the clean unmount of your OS disk.

I "fixed" my GT430 Fermi freezes by replacing it with a GT640 Kepler card. $100 and done.

GraphicsEnabler=No Make sure to remove NVClockX.kext.

QE/CI and OpenCL out of the box. Not a bad solution for anyone using a GT430. Less than ideal for anyone with a mid-high end fermi.

What if we don't have an old GFX card or integrated GTX?
