Motherboard
HP Pavilion 15-ab292NR
CPU
i7-6700HQ
Graphics
Intel HD 530
Problem: SO I have spent weeks to get HDMI output. This laptop has only one HDMI port and nothing else. HDMI port causes black screen.

INSTALL: OpenCore Big Sur 11.7.10 -- direct install no intermediate OS
OpenCore ver 0.9.6

SPECS:
MODEL: HP 15-ab292NR
SMBIOS: MacbookPro 13,1
CPU: I7-6700HQ
GPU: iGPU Intel HD 530 -- ONLY 1 HDMI port, no other ports
3X USB 3 Ports -- USBMap.kext done and works. NO USB-C
Skylake
16 GB RAM
1TB HDD

WHAT WORKS: Everything but HDMI OUT & Camera
Full 1920x1080 with accel
Bluetooth
Wifi
Trackpad -- Basic functions, don't care use USB mouse
Sound

WHAT HAPPENS: Using ig-platform 0x191B0000 HDMI gives black screen on both laptop and monitor

WHAT I'VE TRIED:
Several combinations of Platform Id and Device ID.....from WhateverGreen Manual (https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/blob/master/Manual/FAQ.IntelHD.en.md) and Dortania Guide
** Laptop Screen works fine on 0x191B0000.
** Hackintool Framebuffer patching
** Both DP->HDMI patch, and setting con2 as HDMI via Hackintool
** ConX patching manually based on Dortania guide
** Some BusID patching -- kinda gave up!!

My thoughts (??): Since the only output port is single HDMI nothing else, this laptop is not exactly having the same connectors for a Intel HD 530 MBP13,1 where 2 DP ports are expected. Don't know if that's an issue.
The Intel Iris Pro HD 580 has 1 x HDMI and 1x DP so tried that....= KP

Help appreciated!! Ideas welcome!

please read the faq for proper hardware profile setup:

does your laptop also have nvidia graphics as well?

Thanks for the reply!

Updated specs!

No discrete GPU. Only iGPU.

And the only port is HDMI. No other DP, etc. present.

you can try the boot argument:
igfxonln=1

Progress!! Now I can get HDMI to work on monitor....and it looks normal.

But:
** Removing HDMI causes black screen, and random reboot.
** Rebooting does not give HDMI back
** Requires NVRAM Clean and reboot and retry.
** Booting laptop with HDMI connected causes black screen.
** Chacne of getting HDMI back is 50/50....until NVRAM Clean and reboot.

what happens when you boot and then plug in hdmi after macOS has loaded?

It works with full acell., screen scaling, brightness everything. 1080p. Mirror displays.

Along with the hot plug issues, when I close the lid of laptop, the monitor also goes to sleep, within few seconds.

EDIT: I see that I can try the HibernateFixup kext?? to fix the lid issue?

same with mine, all works fine if i plug in hdmi after macOS has loaded up

if i boot with hdmi plugged in, I don't get anything on my laptop screen at all

although i also have DP which i use more as i can boot with that plugged in and get picture on both external and laptop screen with no issues

think sleep works ok, can't remember if i have tried that or not

what happens when you boot without:

Code:
<key>framebuffer-con2-enable</key>
                <data>AQAAAA==</data>
                <key>framebuffer-con2-type</key>
                <data>AAgAAA==</data>
?

also if you can set DVMT in bios to 64MB, then there is no need for:

Code:
<key>framebuffer-patch-enable</key>
                <data>AQAAAA==</data>
                <key>framebuffer-fbmem</key>
                <data>AACQAA==</data>
                <key>framebuffer-stolenmem</key>
                <data>AAAwAQ==</data>

@Feartech Sorry for the late reply. And thank you so much for your help!

I have not yet tried removing the con2 patch...because I want to move from Big Sur to Monterey and then tackle the issues that may arise in Monterey, and also then mess with HDMI.

Will I be able to go to Monterey directly? I know I can go till Monterey 12.1 -- I am getting OTA update for Monterey 12.1. Are there any fixes needed for Monterey 12.1.

Then, if I move on to Ventura, where will I get stuck? Or is that impossible. While I'm in the mood I would like to go as far as I can go and not have to worry about the laptop for a while !!!!

for Ventura you will have to spoof a kabylake smbios and ig-platform and device-id

make sure kexts and opencore are the latest
