Good afternoon to everyone,
I'm new in this forum and, first of all, I really appreciate all your hard work.

Now I need your help and I hope to solve my problems.

Few times ago I installed Yosemite on my pc, with this configuration:

Intel i7 3820 -> overclocked at 4.6 GHz
Asus Sabertooth x79
NVIDIA GTX 760

Everything was ok.

I'm now reinstalling MAC OS X (I've completely formatted last time to install Windows 8.1) but I cannot boot the OS from the USB drive. I'm following your guides heare at tonymacx68, but however I configure my BIOS, nothing; I insert the tag npci=0x2000 (that before goes ok) and now the loading stops at half showing me the signal of no entry. Going on with verbose mode, the system tells me it's waiting for root......

Can you help ma please??

The last time I've installed the OS, nothing of that happened and all goes fine.
I tried all bios setting.....

Can you write for me a step by step guide or a snapshot of your bios settings to copy??

Tanks a lot.
Hoping to solve soon...

Best regards

Enrico

Still waiting for root device....

Which port you are using for bootable USB?? Avoid USB3.0 and front panel ports.

Load Factory Defaults on BIOS and make the changes as mentioned below (Ignore those are not available/applicable),

1. Disable Secure Boot
2. Disable Fast Boot
3. Disable CFG-Lock
4. Set OS Type as Other OS
5. Disable VT-D
6. Set SATA Mode as AHCI
7. Enable USB Legacy Support
8. Set xHCI mode as AUTO (Not SMART Auto)
9. Set xHCI Hand-Off as Enabled
10. Enable the EHCI Hand-off

Then try to boot again.

If same issue, then Disable xHCI Mode on BIOS and check booting again.

Note:- If the BIOS is running with old version, then update it to the latest available.

Thanks for your spped on aswering.
I'm following your istructions. The BIOS is updated at the last version, 4701 I think. However i've updated it before starting the procedure.

I've inserted, however, the USB drive in an USB 3.0 port. Maybe this could be the reason.

I let you apdated and thanks so much for your precious informations.
Se you soon.

Enrico

Where can I find xHCI settings?

I'm sorry, but I don't find it.....

Thanks a lot for everything......

I think it may be not available on your BIOS.

Still you have same issue while booting??

If Yes, then try booting with "dart=0 USBBusFix=Yes -f -v -x"

No, thanks a lot for your help; everything is ok now; principally , I think, the problem is that I was using the usb 3.0 solt.... I'm sorry.

But I have a question now; how can I avoid to print, each time, the string npci=0x2000 to boot the pc? Is there a way to "save this" indise the ssd so that the bootloader recognise it automatically??

Sorry for the numerous questions: do you know if I can install the dirvers for the usb 3.0??

Thanks a lot for your time and help.

Enrico

Have you ran MultiBeast?? or still booting from USB??

Sorry for the numerous questions: do you know if I can install the dirvers for the usb 3.0??

I think your port will work without any driver. Check after multibeast installation.

Morning,

I've installed the OS correctly; using multibeast for Yosemite I've installed:

Select 'Free DSDT' from 'Quick Start'
Drivers > Misc > ElliottForceLegacyRTC
EvOreboot
Both of the FakeSMCs
NullCPUPowerManagement
USB 3.0 Universal
VoodooTSCSync > 4 Core (or however many cores depending on what processor you have)

Customize > 1080p Display Mode (optional)
SSDT Options > Sandy Bridge Core i7 (again, depends on your processor) (I choosed the overclocked one)

using multibeast for Mavericks:

Drivers > Audio > Without DSDT > ALC892

I've also added the string <string>npci=0x2000</string> in the kernel flags of the bootloader plist. Everything was going fine, exept for the ethernet driver; before installing the drivers using multibeast it's warking....and then no......

I've tried to install the driver 1000e from Multibeast (Yosemite) but nothing, after the pc didn't boot.

So I reinstalled all the OS and all pre drivers I've written before, exept for the ethernet one. Everything seems going ok. Just the time to install chrome and downlaoding ROOT from CERN site, and opening the Store App to install XCode the app sed me that the identity of the mac could no be verified..try to restard and login again.

Ok.....but after the restart nothing, the pc didn't boot...... WHY????

Going in verbose mode, it stops with this string:

AppleLPC::start - Could not find IOPlatformPlugin driver

May you help me?? Thanks a lot, really
See you soon

My guess is the VoodooTSCSync kext - You don't need that, but boot with -v and post a picture of the screen when it stops.

Here they are !!!! I'm sorry for the quality but I used my smartphone.

20150802_092655.jpg20150802_093001.jpg

This is when it stops.
However it takes anought time also when there is the string (also visible in the previous pictures) [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchFor TransportEvent........--MissingBluetooth Controller Transport!

Thanks a lot for your help and time
I hope to solve soon.
