Used guide from here and install was fairly quick and clean.

Had to add the following at Chimera screen to get install to complete:
-f -v npci=0x2000 GraphisEnabler=YES PCIRootUID=1

After first reboot I ran Multibeast and booted directly to my SSD Yosemite.

Had to add Marvell Yukon kexts to get ethernet to work.

Rebooted to Yosemite - ethernet working - signed in to App store and redownloaded Yosemite as test.

Sound - I have ADI2000b sound but it was not working. I also have a Logitech Jabra Speakerphone (USB) connected
and Yosemite correctly installed this device so my sound (both input and output) worked fine through the speakerphone.
I then added ADI2000b fix for my onboard sound. Rebooted sound was still through speakerphone. Unplugged speakerphone
and sound was then through onboard sound. For me that's just a minor annoyance as I always use my speakerphone anyway.

Wireless - I have Ralink RT2870 onboard wireless. Was not detected. Downloaded new kext for that, rebooted and wireless is
now working.

So far everything is working.

My system is an old ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe with 8gb of ram, Nvidia 9800 GT, Ralink wireless, Marvell Yukon ethernet, Intel core 2 duo.

More testing will be done to make sure everything is working and continues to work.

This install was by far the easiest OS X install I have done. In the past I've done Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mavericks.

Good luck with your builds.

It will take me a while to get all my bios settings. All my bios settings are fairly standard except I use AHCI.

I have the Asus P5Q3 Deluxe with Ralink wireless on board.

After you Install Yosemite to your HDD or SSD it asks you to reboot.

Reboot using your USB and select your HDD or SSD and use the following flags:
-f -x npci = 0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=YES PCIRootUID=1

and it should boot into Yosemite. During the remainder of the Yosemite install, select NO INTERNET

When install completes, reboot using USB and select your HDD or SSD.

Run Multibeast and select basic options - I'll have to screenshot the parameters I chose.

I'll have to check on the kexts I used but I think there are only 3.

My only issue is that if I use Yosemite to eirther shutdown or restart the system, it resets my CMOS and I have to
go into bios settings and reload my saved bios settings. I'm currently working on a fix for that using my second
partition on my SSD. I have 2 partitions - one called BU Yosemite and Yosemite. The BU Yosemite is the partition
that is working fine. I use the Yosemite partition to test my changes and see if they work. I use Carbon Copy Cloner to
backup my BU Yosemite partition to my Yosemite partition so that I always have a working Yosemite

As soon as I get a chance I'll check to see what kexts I'm loading. If you don't have onboard Ralink wifi you wont
need the Ralink kext.

What exactly is happening when you boot to Yosemite? The message you are getting is a warning and should not affect
booting to mavericks. You just wont have wifi. You'll have to search the formum for the appropriate kext for your wifi
adapter.

There are several threads on this error code. for example http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1416

I believe this requires you to change your region on the Atheros device.

Do you use the same machine to run Windows? If so, do you use the onboard wireless or the PCI-e card?

If your motherboard is an Asus P5q3 the onboard wireless is Ralink and there is a kext for that that will allow
you to use the onboard wireless. I use the onboard wireless Ralink in Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Ubuntu, and Yosemite.

What is your reason for not using the onboard wireless?

Before modifying the eprom of your add on wireless, I would attempt to use the onboard Ralink.

As soon as I get back into my Yosemite I will attempt to upload the kexts I used for my build.

hi, i have asus p5q3 not deluxe, and i install yosemite without problem, but i have problem with sound, i have aci 1200 chipset, so can you tell me where you download that fix that you mentioned in post?? is this some kind of kext, so if it is, please were can i download it. tnx

tnx for information, i solve the problem. i installed the first driver form MB but not from realtek folder but from universal folder, 1st driver voodooHDA v021. so i hope that this will help to others..

The message you are getting is informational.

I suggest you try re-enabling the onboard wireless, the oob wireless adapter and adding the Ralink kext to see if the error message goes away.

for imessage and the others to work you need to ensure that the first ethernet adapter listed in prefrences is eno and not the
wireless card (either Ralink or your oob wireless card). Apple is looking for a known ethernet adapter on en0.

Attached is my Multibeast settings, my org.chameleon.boot plist, and my ethernet settings from Prefrences.
You'll notice that my eno is the onboard Marvel Yukon. When my onboard wireless was first (en0) I could not get to
facetime, imessage, and icloud. I removed the wireless in preferences so that the ethernet adapter became en0 and
the problems were resolved.

I did find a link that goes into moding the oob wireless card you have, but that is risky.

If you have a Asus p5q3 deluxe, the onboard Ralink wireless works perfectly fine. Any speed improvements with the
out of the box card you have will not be noticable. I've been using the onboard wireless adapter since I first got my
Asus P5Q3 with no problems. It works with Windows, Yosemite, and Ubuntu

What is the message you get when you try to use iMessage?

I am currently trying to get Clover working now. Have not yet gotten to the install stage of Yosemite.

I can boot the clover usb but the install stalls.

There is another thread regarding iMessage that require you to call apple to reset your imessage.

I did not have to do that. I deleted the networking plist, rebooted with -f -x flag, re added my hardware Ethernet
and all was good.

I don't really use iMessage anyway so I didn't care if it worked or not. I use a web based sms site to send
text messages called txt2day. However, my iMessage does work.

If I figure out Clover I will let you know.
