I want to share my new build with you! I followed Mitchellk's Golden Build to get it up and running in NO TIME!
http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-builds/50621-asus-x79-sabertooth-core-i7-3960x-successful.html

This was way easier to get going than my X58 i7-960 build.

If you are looking for a Pro Tools HD rig, this is it! (PCI-e cards of course).

I have it running stock with no overclock, and I'm GeekBenching 16k 64bit.
This is the fastest computer I've ever used!

Pro Tools is running better than ever, and I'm in heaven with the 32gb of ram with the new "Ram Disk Cache" feature in pro tools 10, so snappy!!
Any questions welcome!!
Thanks everyone!

That small hole on the drive-bay is the RF receiver for the LED setup

Overclocked to 4.2Ghz

Did you have any issues with timing and voltages on the RAM? I've read that it's impossible to get RAM to run at 1.5v on a 3930k system, and that 1.35 is required, but it looks like you're doing fine here. Did you have to tweak at all or did it work perfectly out of the box?

How your macos detect right overclock with 4,2 GHz, my macos only see 4 GHz when i overlock it 4,6 GHz

My os is 10.7.4
Mainboard like you: sabertooth x79
Ram 16 GB Gskill.

Thank you very much

I had to edit the plist in the Extra folder to get it to display that, it wasn't detected by itself.

I just ran the XMP profile of my ram, and increased the multiplier to 42 for all cores. It ran fine, maybe 1 out of 5 boots it would give me an OVERCLOCK FAILED, and I would just reset the computer and it would work fine. I've since put it back to stock multiplier for now. I've been meaning to check out a few X79 overclocking guides, I hear there's also a youtube video.

*Update* flashed to the latest bios, no more overclock failed messages and computer never fails to shut down anymore..

I wouldn't be scared to do it..
