Hi guys, Ive had Lion running perfectly on my pc now for a few months.

I used tonymac's guide using a USB installation method, as i dont have a dvddrive on my pc.

So, I needed windows 7 for some college work today, and i have 3 harddrives in my pc.
I removed the drive with lion on it, and installed windows 7.

plugged the drive back in, and everything worked perfect.

Then i decided to load a theme for chimera.
that too worked perfectly.

then i changed to a different theme, rebooted, and all i got was the text chimera boot.
no gui boot.

So i tried to revert back to the default theme, but something went a bit wrong.
what i then noticed was the extras folder was missing.

So, i came on here, downloaded chimera again, went through the installer, but no extras folder was created.

luckily, i hadnt emptied my recycle bin... so i restored the folder called extras to its usual location.

once i rebooted, im still getting the text only boot menu, and when i chose to boot lion, i get the grey screen with spinning wheel...
so, i reboot again, and try verbose mode to see whats stopping lion from booting.

there is TON of this shown on screen.

failed to load executable for kext com.apple.driver.appleRTC
kext com.apple.driver.AppleRTC failed to load (0xdc008016)
couldnt alloc class "AppleRTC"
a few of those show up

and then it halts on this line

HDAEnabler: copyright (c) 2008 by kabyl
HDAEnabler: 05/05/2008 added SP-Audio support by Taruga
HDAEnabler: 03/07/2009 compiled for 32/64-bit by taruga

thats where it freezes.

WIndows 7 still boots fine.

Im in dire **** here, as ALL my college work is on lion... can anyone help me? pulling my hair out over this complete **** up....

forgot to mention,
my pc specs are

asus P7h55D-M Evo
hd5770
12gb ddr3
3 hdd's (lion on one, win 7 on another and the third is blank)

ok, ive been working on this all night, and im not making huge progress.

what ive done, ive booted into windows 7.

installed a HFS driver and explorer, and now im able to view the entire contents of the OSX Lion hdd.

can someone advise on locations of where kexts are stored etc, or maybe some way to revert my system back to a working state, e.g. the default kexts that worked when i first installed lion?

what ive done is backed everything up, so at least i have all my college work recovered now.

but the main problem now is i cant do a new install of lion, as i had snow leopard running in a vm, and i bought osx lion through that, put it on a usb and installed it.
however, now i dont have snow leopard in vm anymore...

so id really like to repair my lion install, as ive spent months customizing it and i love it.

any help on what i can do from here?
