Im really not understanding the roll back acpi..

i do not see this in multi beast 5.02. unless im blind.

Either way

thanksk for your thead

I have a question for you

I am loosing my wits...

the atheros 8151...

I can not get it to work with the multi beast kexts...

The hardware is found and installed

however when I go to network pref

it flashes red/green and cant seem to get ip... even when I set up manualy.

Im going nuts. Im about to try a difrent network card all together.

peace.

any ideas?

For the GA-Z77-D3H, all you need is to install Maolj's Atheros Ethernet in multibeast. If this does not work you probably have a different motherboard...

I got it working.

never mind.

I have noidea how..

I just kept messing with it..... I sort of tricked it I think.

installed a new network card realtek based, instalked lnx2macs rtl kexts

after that when I aded ethernet to pref I noticed it was still pulling up the atheros mac

but it was showing green and conected .. with a odd ip address.. even without a cable connected...

of course when I tried to surf I was not actualy connected...

disconected the cable and then.

I set the dhcp manualy to my router...

ip , dns and everything manual.

I also made sure to change the netbios name (i think this was the main culprit) under advanced

under hardware i set it to half duplex 100 1500mtu

i punched in my routers ip in safari

then connected the cable and wala my router page poped up..

thankfully so did the rest of the world wide web there after =D

I do have a different mother board...

its the z77m

but as far as i can tell all the controllers are identical to the d3h..

im pretty sure you have atheros 8158

It installed fine.. it might have been my router not handing out the ip.. idk

I will say when i went straigt from modem to the adapter im pretty sure it worked I just didnt test it since but I did get green connected and lights blinking... kind of odd..

thanks for the reply..

Im sure ur getting tired of people posting with the variotions of the d3h mother boards... sorry about that homie.

but honest.. im confident the micro atx is the same. tho the bios version are diffrent. Im about to plug in your dsdt once i figure out how to roll back acpi from the fake smc i installed

so i just tick apci in multi beast?

also Im trying to run a 27" cat leap with a 4850

do i need to do anythign else besides ad device id to the 4800 kext

as well as add the higher resolution of the cat leap to my boot.plist?

No they are not.

No it is not

Don't know, you have a different configuration and MB

Please read the first post:

- Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H (note the Z77 and D3H, no X, M or DS3H)

Again, this guide is only for the GA-Z77-D3H. It will NOT work for a different version of the board

This method will not work the Z77M, the DSDT will not work, the kexts will not work and the ACPI may not be applicable. Sorry but can't help you, please seek advice in the relevant forums

If it doesn't work.

It doesnt work..

But you never know...

http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4140&dl=1#sp

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4142#sp

same audio chip

same lan chip

exact same bios

same ite i/o chip

possibly same usb chip

.. im confused.

the fact the bios is the same tells me the dsdt should work

or am i missing something?

what is different between the boards?

I will admit I am a noob.

but If i was a manufacturer and I was going to make one motherboard atx and another micro atx. I would most likely use the same parts to keep cots down.

anyway I dont see why I need a dsdt if sleep works fine... Im just wanting to get discrete video card working..

tim how did you get the dsdt?

I would like to make my own..

I have used dsdt auto patcher on other builds but that is not the same

It did not work

=p

Thanks again tim for the awesome thread.

I started my own thread in the hopes to help anyone with ethernet issues.

Dsdt is not needed

I got everything working great!

this is by far the best hackintosh I have done. For the first time I have built from ground up.. it was worth it. everything is as smooth as Ive had for a hackintosh

Tim how do I make sure ssdt is working? How can i tell if turbo is working ?

Tim, my main man. I have finally caught up and got my system booting naitivaly and as it should. Installed all the bits and peices from your guide and in system information everything is where it should be BUT (here we go again :lolno:) I have no output.

I have optical from the pc to home cinema, I also have HDMI to tv and normal cable to monitor.

With the HDMI cable plugged in the sound options just offer HDMI via 'Sony TV" which gives me no output.

With it unplugged I have nothing........
