@maromi
Yes, I agree that MS is also taking a few pages out of Google's book too, by trying to make more
money by data mining. What I was referring to was mainly the look and function of Windows 10.
They've now almost exactly copied Spaces, Notifications, Mission control, Continuity, Siri etc. etc.
It just dosen't all work as elegantly as it does in OS X. They are trying to play catch up with both
Apple and Google to try and keep their company relevant. Windows 10 is free but there is still
a price that you are paying to use it. Here's a small part of the terms of services agreement:

According to the agreement, the OS will save your Bing searches, private email content and the apps you access, as well as "your typed and handwritten words."

Microsoft says the data is being collected to personalize the OS.

"We will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith that doing so is necessary to protect our customers or enforce the terms governing the use of the services."

Here is a summary of the Win10 privacy issues by RedGamingTech.com

"The alarming thing isn’t that these options necessarily exist – the alarming thing is that everything is on by default. The average computer user isn’t going to know how to disable this stuff, let alone that these intrusive options even exist inside the operating system. In absolute terms, Windows 10 is an improvement over older iterations of the software, but in terms of user rights it’s a major step backwards."

If you want to stop Microsoft from invading your privacy in multiple ways watch the following video
and make the changes shown to keep MS from becoming your personal Big Brother.

Make sure to watch at least to the 08:35 mark as there are some command line steps to implement
that will let you completely opt out of all the privacy invasion Microsoft has included in Windows 10.

Here is the text version of the steps to take: http://www.redgamingtech.com/window...-stop-it-spying-on-you-what-you-need-to-know/

If you don't have the time or interest to do all that at least implement these basic steps:

---Before/During Installation---

Do not use Express Settings. Hit Customize, and make sure everything is turned off. It's strongly preferred that you use a local account with Windows 10.

----After Installation----

Head to Settings > Privacy, and disable everything, unless there are some things you really need.
While within the Privacy page, go to Feedback, select Never in the first box, and Basic in the second box.
Head to Settings > Update and Security > Advanced Options > Choose how updates are delivered, and turn the first switch off.

Disable Cortana by right clicking the Search bar/icon.

(Optional) Disable web search in Search by going to Settings, and turning off Search online and include web results.
