Which is wright, HW Monitor or bdmesg?

I am on an Z77X-UP5 TH.

HW Monitor shows me 3500 Mhz (3.5 multiplier), but
bdmesg shows me:
processorVersion: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
externalClock: 100MHz
maximumClock: 3503MHz
currentClock: 4200MHz

Which is wright?

Yes. They might both be "right".

The "base clock" is 35x, and thus the CPU is identified as 3.5 GHz. bdmesg is showing the boot log. At the time it queries the clock the CPU has apparently "turboed" up to 42x (set in your BIOS?) although it won't remain at 4.2 GHz continuously.

HWMonitor will report a range of frequencies as the multiplier goes up and down.

Thanks, that is what i wanted to know!
