Weird problem with Handoff, Instant Hotspot and AutoUnlock

Status
Not open for further replies.
But I haven't changed anything since the last post, except for the SMBIOS from 14.3 to 14.1. If you need to see that new config.plist and new ACPI files extracted, no problem. I will attach them here in some minutes.

@RehabMan Edit: Here you can find new files, with new extracted ACPI files. Thanks.

Your ACPI configuration is wrong.
Dynamic SSDTs should not be in ACPI/patched.
SortedOrder is required to set SSDT load order.
With patched SSDTs in ACPI/patched, DropOem=true must be used.
See guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-patching-laptop-dsdt-ssdts.152573/

In the guide it says "I like to include all SSDTs, in their original order, patched appropriately, unless they are known to cause a problem. Keep in mind that an SSDT that doesn't need any patches, does not need to be recompiled. You can simply use the original AML file unmodified.". That is what I did, since it is not an old CPU (Sandy or prior). This one is the 7500U. Shouldn't they be included in ACPI/Patched? Or there is one in particular that shouldn't be there?

I will apply the fixes you say now.

Ok @RehabMan, I have removed the ssdt(number)x files, and only leave ssdt(number). Set DropOem to True, and sorted all of them in SortedOrder, starting with ssdt.aml, and continuing with the other in order. After restarting, it loaded reaaaally slow, and then I got the forbidden symbol. So, I can't boot. I had to set DropOem to false again to be able to boot. This is a grey field to me, I really don't know what to do with the ssdt files, which ones are useful, wich are not, and which is the proper sorted order. Reading the guide did not help, I am missing some background to understand it.

Only thing I did was to remove some ssdt's, set DropOem to True and change the sorted order. But for your reference, I am attaching here the Clover folder again, with the x ssdts removed and the config.plist as I have used it (and couldn't load with it like this), the only things that were modified.

SSDT-PNLF.aml (and generally other add-on SSDTs) should be placed in SortedOrder after OEM SSDTs.
(the exception is SSDT.aml from ssdtPRgen.sh, which doesn't matter where in the order)

You have unbalanced renames.
config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches apply to DSDT.aml in ACPI/patched, but not ACPI/patched/SSDT*.aml.
For any rename you're applying via config.plist, you must do that rename manually in the SSDTs.
(I'm working on changing that for a new build of Clover, but for now... Clover is really dumb with regard to patched SSDTs).

I'll take a look to see if I can figure out what is exactly that "renames" in config.plist. The plist I am using is one provided by you in your laptop guide, specifically one for Intel HD graphics corresponding to my model. And thanks for telling me how the SortedOrder should be, I really appreciate it. I will test that right now.

The renames in the plist (in config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches) are not a problem, but you just have to realize they don't apply to your files in ACPI/patched/SSDT*.aml. For those files, you must do the required renames manually.

Thank you very much, RehabMan, now I understand how to sort them, and what were you saying about the renames. I had to rename a couple of things in one of my ssts, the others were good. I have applied drop oem and proper sorted order as instructed, and I was able to boot normally, but the problem is still present.

Attached is a new copy of my Clover folder as it is now.
