I have a Toshiba L855-S5309 Laptop. Specs are :

Intel i3-3110m
8gb ddr3 1600 mhz.
Intel HD 4000 mobile. DPCI Manager shows id as 0166
500gb seagate 5400 rpm 2.5
15.6" LCD 1366x768
hdmi/vga out, usb 3 Atheros nic

Can't seem to get QE/CI working with 10.11 El Capitan. Tried a few ig-platform id's, and some AppleCapriFB etc. When it logs in i get a lot of screen tearing. Dont see any way to change video ram setting in BIOS either. Anyone have any ideas? Would be appreciated. thanks!

Also i use clover as the bootloader in UEFI mode in the bios. AND when i made the USB with a installer for el capitan i selected hd 4000, but i wonder if thats for desktop and not mobile HD 4000. Also i included clover's config.plist as well.

ig-platform-id 0x01660004 is wrong for 1366x768.

You need 0x01660003.

And your ig-platform-id is not specified correctly. Must be 0x01660003, not 01660003.

that worked! thanks! Now i need to get the brightness working (dsdt edit i think).
