While trying to help troubleshoot macOS High Sierra on a Intel 200 Series with Intel HD 630 /530 /Nvidia Graphics and SSD in APFS , I decided to try on a new set of hardware shown in the Title.

After 3 hours of unboxing the hardware and setting them on the breadboard, I could install macOS Hi Sierra on an SSD and a SATA Spin disk and update them to the latest recommended updates.
I have a large number of photos I took and some important and useful ones that will show the critical steps. I will try to upload depending upon the Forum's acceptance.

Hardware for this Build:

  • MoBo: GA-B250MD3H with BIOS F4
  • CPU: Intel i7 6700. LGA1151 with Intel Stock Cooler
  • Graphics: Intel HD 530 to Acer Monitor via HDMI
  • RAM 8GBx4 =32GB BallisTix DD4 2400
  • Hard Disks : Lite-On SSD 256GB SeaGate SATA 500GB
  • PSU: Corsair CX650M
  • Will add later
    • VisionTek Radeon 5450 2GB PCIE Graphics
    • TP-Link Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter (TL-WDN4800)
  • I used a 16 GB Kootion Flash Disk to create my High Sierra USB Installer
  • Partitioned (GUID) and Formatted (HFS+) the disk and named it "USB" using Disk Utility of my Hackintosh Sierra where I had downloaded High Sierra Installer 10.13 /
  • I ran the Terminal command
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app —nointeraction

  • Downloaded the Clover EFI r4289 and installed it on the Installer USB FD for UEFI booting
  • Edited CLOVER/kext/Other with required kexts considering I have Intel HD 530 and would later install Radeon 5450
  • I deleted all the numbered folders Clover EFI had created leaving only the required "Other" for holding essential kexts.
  • I edited drivers 64 UEFI and added apfs.efi for my trial with SSD on apfs for High Sierra
  • I made sure the config.plist menus including Boot: args, Devices, Graphics etc will support the USB Installer to use the hardware to reach installation Screen without any problem.
  • I did have minor problems mainly because of my own mistakes from distractions as a result of phone calls and other chores .
  • I was able to install first in macOS extended (Journaled) format and then I cloned the 250 GB disk on to a 500 GB Seagate SATA Spin Disk while reformatting the original Liteon SSD in APFS .
  • Because APFS has a different way of dealing with the disk I had to learn the way it would boot and reach the CBM and appear there.
  • Since there is no step-by -step Installation GUIDE with images I had to learn with my first attempt taking pictures to record everything.
  • In a quick survey, Sound is one thing that DOES NOT Work.
    • Multibeast Cannot find my System Disk ( formatted APFS) as the Target to install Realtek AC 892
    • Toleda's Audio-Clover-ALC 130 cmd also failed. I have to spend some time to check all these later as the hardware was delivered only in the afternoon and I had not had much time to analyze the problem yet.
  • The uploaded images are in groups:
    • CLOVER/kext/Other
    • CLOVER/drivers64UEFI
    • config.plist viewed in Clover Configurator Vibrant

  • As you can see, our hardware are NOT identical.
    • Your Processor is i5 7400 and I used i7 6700K with Intel HD 530 Graphics.
    • My EFI folder will create more problems for you if you clone that to your Boot disk.
    • My illustrated post is intended to be used only as a rough framework for installing HS on a set of hardware similar to mine.
  • I will be happy to help if you can do the following:

Ok, thank you very much ;)
