[SUCCESS] MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI +32Gb DDR5 + i9-13900K + Radeon RX 6800XT

it always gives me an error message
Softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 14.2.1
Scanning for 14.2.1 installer
Install failed with error: Update not found

you have to read carefully....

OK, in terminal write:

softwareupdate --list-full-installers

look for a version you like, then do

Softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 14.x.x

select a version you see in the list when you do softwareupdate --list-full-installers

you have to replace 14.x.x with one that appear in the list.
try again

I tested the command line:
softwareupdate --list-full-installers.

and got another error message. Clearly, I really have no luck with this hackintosh

there is no error message there?

Excuse me. What I meant is I don't have Sonoma showing up

@the66
I understand that you want to be helped, but your answers are always very "tight", and I don't have a crystal ball...

can you not download direct from applestore?

He needs a Sonoma version "pre 14.4" (e.g. 14.2, 14.3)

When I do same terminal command, I obtain:

Pulpinex@Marios-Air ~ % softwareupdate --list-full-installers
Finding available software
Software Update found the following full installers:
  • Title: macOS Sonoma, Version: 14.4, Size: 13297753KiB, Build: 23E214, Deferred: NO
  • Title: macos Sonoma, Version: 14.3.1, Size: 13073278KiB, Build: 23D60, Deferred: NO
  • Title: macOS Sonoma, Version: 14.3, Size: 13073941KiB, Build: 23D56, Deferred: NO
  • Title: macOS Sonoma, Version: 14.2.1, Size: 13066225KiB, Build: 23C71, Deferred: NO

My guess would be that the SMBIOS of the machine that he is using to download does not meet the qualifying criteria for Sonoma.

try again with method suggested in post #118

I used an older version of gibmacos, and was able to access the sonoma download. As soon as I create the USB key, I will get back to you. Many thanks again community
