yes and no. i have 3 bootable OS X partitions on three physical drives. boot efi partition on main drive. i always try new changes on a "sandbox" partition.
so i am not sure what your method actually did; did the dsdt edit remap the usb ports and the kext patch allow for more usb ports? it works, but it doesn't seem right. the fact that all usb devices are showing up under usb3.0 bus suggests something is being missed here. regardless, it does work, so I should count my blessings and stop messing with the computer.
Yes, DSDT remaps the USB ports, and patch removes EL Capitan 15 USB ports limit. I know there is the possibility to fix the hooking USB 2.0 devices to USB 3.0 by patching Device ID, but I don't know which Device ID we should use for our MB.
from what i have read this isn't really a problem..apparently all usb 2 devices can be controlled by XHC controller. So I guess we can file it as a stable working fix.
