Components Ordering
Thank you everyone at the tonymacx86 community. I'm a software developer and a semi-pro photographer. I have iMac 24inch from 2007 with 4GB ram. It started to slowdown and now the HD is broken. Now time for upgrade.. Should I get a new iMac or Mac Pro... I decided to check the Hackintosh after the price of MacPro. First I found tonymac site and then spent a lot of time researching components with my budget in my mid, watching builds in youtube and reading over build posts. One thing is.. I never built a computer (mac or windows). So it is a challenging task for me. Finally got some confidence and then decided to order the components.

I read the May 2013 component list and shortlisted in Amazon and Newegg. First I ordered the case, i thought of getting Black 500R last minute changed to white. One word about the case.. Excellent design. Fans everywhere.. Best cable management. I ordered the cooler to additionally and it can nicely fit to the case.

Build
I was little scared about the static electric... But things went very smoothly.. I didn't connect any of the cables...I got help from my buddy...he helped to connect all the cables..

We started the system with finger crossed.. we got the Bios screen.. Hoooray......Hoooray...

Installation
I configured the BIOS based on the thelostswede's article: http://www.tonymacx86.com/99-quick-guide-configuring-uefi-gigabyte-s-7-series-lga-1155-boards.html I download Mountain Lion on my iMac and got the USB ready based on tonymacx86 UniBeast Installation Guide.

Installation went very smoothly. I installed the OSx 10.8.4 on SSD. Now I ran MultiBeast and configured it as described in the above link. But it didn't reboot.. So I went to my post found in Stork's Golden Build. Suggested by Adrian B. I followed the MultiBeast Config for the 650i.

Thunderball's MultiBeast v5.3 Configuration GTX 650 Ti.jpg

It rebooted successfully.

Final Results
I was able boot the systems. All the USB ports working. Fans working. System is super fast.. like Ferrari.

Connected Bluetooth adapter. My keyboard and Mouse started working.

I had my time machine backup from the old iMac. I used the migration assistant to restore the user along with Apps, photos, videos, music and document. My 2TB Seagate drive is holding all the my photos, videos, docs.. for now. I would like to get another SSD to store the photos..

One thing, I noticed it my LG blu-ray drive reads automatically every 5-10 mins. I haven't really figured out why it is doing it.

That's it for now..

Pics from the mac.

Once Again...Thank you all... :)

As mentioned in the User Builds Template, I recommend you use your Profile's Albums capability to attach your screen snapshots and pictures in full size into your build description, especially your MultiBeast configuration screen snapshot.

Great build sssg_mac, although I'm probably biased... :D

You need to set your RAM speed to 1600MHz in BIOS. Under the MIT tab, Advanced frequency settings, set Extreme memory profile to "Profile 1". This should change the RAM frequency from the default 1333MHz to 1600MHz.

Changed the setting in the Bios.

Thanks Stork. I will update the pictures.

Good build sssg_mac. My build is about the same and yours (motherboard, processor, memory, video card is GTX650Ti) and is working very well except for a flaky bluetooth connection.

My question is about some things checked in the MultiBeast. What are Fake SMCv5.1.01 Plugins and HW Monitor Application which are under Miscellaneous in the MultiBeast? I didn't check them What will they do for me? I'm always so nervous when I change MultiBeast.

My Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. How can I trouble shoot that? There can't be too much wrong because sometimes it works but not reliably enough that I can throw away my old USB keyboard and mouse. I use the
IOGear Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter that is recommended on the Tonymac buyer's guide.

Thanks
David

I have a 3770k, z77-up5-th, mt. lion drive 10.8.4. I dont know how to move forward. Everyone says disabling VT-d will fix it. I do not have an option for that in my BIOS.

The VT-d option only appears in bios for those using non 'k' processors. Do the installation without your GTX650i card.

Double check your bios settings : http://www.tonymacx86.com/99-quick-guide-configuring-uefi-gigabyte-s-7-series-lga-1155-boards.html

Installation notes below taken from here : http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-bu...-ga-z77x-up5-th-gtx-650-ti-mountain-lion.html

Third, change the BIOS by doing the following (see the User Manual for more information):
Load the Optimized Settings;
If you're using memory supporting XMP, then set the XMP to Profile 1 to set the correct memory parameters (M.I.T. > Advanced Memory Settings);
Check your BIOS for the settings that thelostswede showed in his article.
In addition to thelostswede's BIOS setup, apply these BIOS settings to allow sleep/wake-up to operate properly, and USB ports to act correctly after wake-up (thanks to arehep - see his post here):
XHCI Pre-Boot Driver = Enabled
XHCI Mode =Auto -> Sleep/wake-up works better set to Auto
Internal CPU PLL Over-voltage = Disable
For the UniBeast installation of Mountain Lion and running the MultiBeast configuration, set the Boot Option #1 to the UniBeast USB drive (BIOS Features > Boot Options Priorities);
For HD4000, ensure the Internal Graphics is set to Enable and the Internal Graphics Memory Size to 32MB since Mountain Lion allocates the HD4000 memory size needed (Peripherals); and
Save the BIOS settings and exit (F10) to boot into the UniBeast USB drive.

Hope this gets you going :thumbup:

David,

I had the same problem with bluetooth like the keys are mistyped some time. I moved the bluetooth adapter little closer to the keyboard and mouse the problem got solved. I have a USB hub that is right next monitor, i moved the Bluetooth to the hub from behind the mac connection.. it solved.

As for as any of the Multibeast setup I just followed another build and the HW monitor shows up in my screen and i can check the temp and status of the mac from there.
