Here is another success story of an old discontinued legacy system.
Running flawlessly Catalina with updates 10.5.7, everything works:
Spec:
Mobo: Asus P6X58D-E
GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX580 OC Lite
SSD: 512 Transcend 370
RAM: 20Gb
USB 3.0:NEC USB 3.0:
LAN & Sound (Crippled): Fried by lightning, replaced with HDMI Audio output & uGreen USB to LAN adaptor.
Note:
Tried installing Big Sur, worked fine but without NEC USB 3.0. The kext just won't work on Big Sur.

- Everything works fine, installed using Opencore bootloader.
- Shutdown/restart, sleep/wake perfectly working.
- Took a while to find the correct solution for shutdown/restart but it works great after Asus shutdown patch from MaciASL.
- NEC USB 3.0 works with latest GenericUSBXHCI.kext.
- Marvell 88SE9123 PCIe Sata 6.0 Gb/s works with AHCIPortInjector.kext.
- USB Map using USBToolBox.kext technique.
- of course using properly patched SSDTs.
Note:
