strange issue with update from 10.6.3 to combo 10.6.5

first off all great work tony my laptop Asus u43-jc finally run OSX with sound and ethernet , and without intel link 1000 b/g/n (maybe i'll replace him) , but after i'm finish to install 10.6.3 im trying to run 10.6.5 combo update , but at 95% (approx) the install popup a window that ask for restart by hold power button , and because of that i cant install multibeast , after a restert the OSX cant run properly...

why its happend ? because my hardware , or im doing something wrong ?
