I want to build my hackintosh.

I want to put OS and programs on separate HDD.

all say SSD is fast,

What exactly are all differences putting OS and programs in SSD or WD 2tb sata internal HDD 7200 rpm ?

Thanks

OS loads in 5-10 seconds, and programs load almost instantly. Can you say, "Poof!"

BTW, to install OS X on a large drive, the partition or the drive must be 1TB or less. So, if you decide to stay with your HDD, partition it for OS X installation.

all prefer using an SSD for the OS and programs while the data on the HDD. About your HDD, apparently, mac os x can't boot in HDDs larger than 1 TB so you will need to partition those into two, another thing is that high capacity hard drives tend to have the "advanced format" wherein sectors are sized at 4096 bytes where today's bootloaders can only boot on 512 sector bytes. In this condition, you will have the boot0 error. Therefore going with the SSD is better advantage in speed and other things. just use the HDD for data. :)
