Will still work, it's the same card. Yes, disable your onboard sound in bios, as well as delete applehda.kext.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but you are saying that I can just replace the kexts with the one provided, and pop it on my motherboard?

Don't get too excited.

Those drivers only allow for stereo output (as opposed to 5.1) - no microphone functionality either.

Any info on how you faired with this. BTW if you are already using VoodooHDA.kext for your onboard sound(+ALC888Kext) do you need to delete the existing kexts first.

Hi, kext is in /S/L/E, but the other file - VoodooHDA.prefPane - where to put it ??
Is it true that no mic is available ?

This kext works for me, but only if I use the -F flag at boot. Otherwise I get a kernel panic. Any ideas how to fix that problem? I don't need 5.1 working or a mic, just stereo out of the card.
