Sony is getting out of the optical drive business.

I am not sure this is a good sign for people who want to make a hackintosh using the tonymacx86 method in the future, being there are sleep issues with other optical drives. Sony is getting out the optical drive business, by this article at Maximum PC today. I've always used Pioneer even when I upgraded my old G4 tower to DVD-RW when DVD-R was cutting edge.
