Here's what happens:
  • Connect logitec c615 webcam via usb
  • plug in external speakers to headphone jack
  • Try and record video with internal microphone
  • Sound comes out as bzzz; pause; bzzz; pause; bzzz; pause; bzzz; over and over
  • Audio preference pane shows noise level jumping with the same rythm.
  • Rebooting works fine.
I have no idea how to fix this.

You lost me at "record video with internal microphone"

You've never recorded audio as a separate source of video?
Video Source Logitech C615 defaults to audio source Logitech c615 speaker.
I often set video source logitech c615 audio source internal microphone array.
Or when recording youtube content set the audio source to Blue Mic.

However, plugging in the headphone jack freezed the audio input on the internal microhpone array in a static feedback loop as described above.

I had to restore the OS a couple days ago and for some reason it works fine now.

No. I'm a developer, not movie producer. And still I have no idea what you mean.

But you wrote "record video with internal microphone". Last I checked, a microphone is not capable of capturing video.

I had to restore the OS a couple days ago and for some reason it works fine now.

I will mark as solved.

I'm 100% sure that as developer is aware of the ability to record audio and video from separate sources on a computer.

Yes, but that is not what you wrote.

Since problem is solved, no need to reply further.
