Completed my new dream build over Christmas - so I've gone all in with a wall-mounted water cooled approach - it's a pretty ambitious build for me, and I've learned a whole lot more about configuring Hackintoshes along the way (although I still feel like I know nothing)

Everything's working great, except for sleep - I have the issue where it sleeps for a second or two, then instantly wakes up again.

Processor: Core 8700K, overclocked to 5GHz
MB: Asus Rog Maximus X Hero
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 (carried over from my last build)
Possibly of note - I added a BCM943602CS Combo Card (Link) - not sure if that might be causing issues, but it's working perfectly in other respects.

Things I've tried:
  • Different values of darkwake
  • Unplugging everything all USB (bar keyboard) and network cables
  • Properly fixing the USB ports as per the guides, and disabling the patch limit.
  • ssdtPRGen (Coffee Lake version)
  • pluginType=true approach to the above
  • half the fixThisThatOrTheOther flags in Clover Configurator.
  • Random suggestions from various threads here.
Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.

If you have the connector, for the Bluetooth part, fitted to your onboard USB this will cause instant wakes.

Thanks - I disconnected it, and sleep worked fine. Sorry - I really should have tried that before.

Is it possible to stop that specific USB port from waking the machine?
Allow Bluetooth Devices to Wake this Computer is disabled, so I know that doesn't work.

I think you have to create ssdt patch and set proper usb port identifier. There is a guide somewhere I cant find right now that has instructions how to do this..

Found it: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-creating-a-custom-ssdt-for-usbinjectall-kext.211311/

Thanks!

I had followed that guide (or thought I had) - but I made a couple of mistakes - incorrectly labelled the type of the port I'd connected the Broadcom card to (I put 0, as it's a USB2 port, but should have put 255 for internal) - and I failed to remove USBInjectAll.kext after I was done.

Seems to be working now! Many thanks for your help.
