My Shuttle SX58H7 is too noisy when running 10.7.2. Looks like the fan is always full speed.

How could I edit DSDT to control it? Does it mean "SpeedStep"?
(For SpeedStep, I am reading http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... 81631&st=0)

I checked the DSDT file for DSDT-ASUS-Sabertooth-X58-1006 from DSDT database, didn't find any section about that.

Thanks in advance for your hint.

2011-11-23 Update:
Looks like it's not a problem about Mac, the fan is in similar speed in Win7 too.

I wouldn't ever want to slow the fan down, it has it's functions like cooling :) I would get some temp monitors going though, to see why the fan is at full speed!

How to get temp monitors work?

Normally for windows and linux, it will get calm after boot, but for my lion, it's totally different case.

The temp of CPU looks ok, but the temp for CPU heatsink is quite high.

Any hint?

Shuttle SX58H7 Fan Speed

Hi,

Did you ever solve the problem of controlling the fan speed on a Shuttle SX58H7?

Mine is running full speed all of the time!

I think I mentioned this in the top:

Then it should not be an issue with hackintosh...
