My laptop has been great, same install for over a year now. A few months ago I upgraded to the 1080P screen. Had rebuilt ktexts after that but no problems, ran for months.
ProBook 4540S top spec - Ivy quad I7, disabled AMD discreet card, 12GB RAM, 128GB SSD.
Today I go to boot up like any other day, black screen. Try to get into single user mode to delete the graphics ktexts, it gets stuck at this root device UUID screen, even if I boot off my Yosemite USB.
I can boot into OS X installer using the recovery boot option in Clover, but that's the only way I can get into... Anything? I ran a disk utility scan on my main volume and it fixed an issue with the number if hard links, but now it scans fine.
Any ideas? I haven't made any system changes in ages. Have tried all sorts of boot flags, in verbose mode it gets stuck at this UUID screen, without verbose mode it is just a black screen. Safe mode is the same. No single mode means I'm stuck.
thanks
